Just to say:

Salutations to all of you who post on this site - the responses and thoughts expressed here are as extraordinarily informative as they are often relentlessly banal. That makes it all, if nothing else, an entertaining read and I applaud you all for helping those of us who know very little about the tech stuff, and use our celly's mostly out of lame convenience. This said - I spoke w/ Ralph De La Vega, COO of Cingular on Friday, (who took a kind, personal interest in my receiving a free V3 RAzR) and I have to say - he appeared just as mystified as his own customer service underlings about this phone as well as his company's official comment on a release date. I was left with the distinct impression that, as seems to be standard, Cingular blame...

Everything on my Razor works perfectly except when I go to "Games and Apps" I get a "please wait" dialog box and I just cant't get in. The hourglass flips for a minute or two and then I get some picture in my gallery.

Cingular: DON'T Lower The Price

It's clear (at least to me) from the posts the last couple of days that the correct price point is $500. Taking $100 more off brings this closer to being "just another phone."

I can get a Timex with a TON more cool electronic features than a Rolex, and I can get Indiglo too! I mean, heck, they both just tell time.

RAZR V3 Now at Wirefly for $499.99 with any Cingular plan

$499 for new Cingular customers only at www.wirefly.com. There still seems to be no way for existing Cingular customers to get it. That's perverse.

Razr V3 vs. MPx220

Does anybody out there now why the V3 is more expensive than the MPx220?

voice dial old technology

I recently purchased a new european razr unlocked...phone is great except voice dial is old tech...my v710 had voice dial except for the fact that the 710 would voice dial any name programed into my phone...I didnt have to train the phone and I wasnt limited to 30 numbers for voice dialing as the razr only allows 30 numbers...the v710 also has a command for digit dialing allowing you to speak the number...you would think with this high tech phone you would get the new technology...

Does it come with a headset....and will it be cheaper at private dealerships?

Anyone know if the $499.99 includes a bluetooth headset?

Secondly, does anyone know if it will be a little cheaper (like $50) at private dealerships? I have a couple of private dealerships around me and they sometimes sell the phones a bit cheaper than the corporate dealers.

Inquisitor Hoth

Don't worry, I'm not getting mad because they are as uninformed as I am. I am getting mad because I am exponentially more informed than they are. Luckily I FINALLY found a rep, who, within 2 minutes had given me all the information I needed, something that half a dozen other Cingular reps couldn't do.

RAZR cosmetic questions

Can someone tell me if the V3 has a custom case or what case it will fit into?
Also, does it have the same charger as the V220 or is it the V400 charger?
Thanks for the help... 🙂

Shipping/Release info from NYC

Hey everyone...I stopped in to a soon to be Cingular Corporate location on 34th st and 7th ave in mid-town Manhattan...I, much like all of you out there, have been trying to get as much info as possible, so here's my contribution...

- Motorola will be shipping the Razr V3 on or around November 18th
- The Razr V3 will be available the beginning of December
- The Razr V3 will cost from $600-$700.

Take it for what it's worth...the reps also said Cingular realizes it will be hard to sell the phone for that much and that since the merger has just taken place, deals and negotiating can happen to draw in new customers.

Price without 2 yr. contract?

Does anyone know what Cingular is going to charge without the 2 yr. contract? I'm with Cingular now, and only a few months in on my contract. Using a V600 now, can't wait for the V3.

V3 gone from Cingular's site

Well, that didn't last very long. Hopefully this just means that they aren't selling it until November 15th. I really hope it isn't delayed until next year, but that's what one Cingular rep told me.

razr off web site

After reading all the threads about razr being taken off web and not released till 1st of year ect ect...I called my buddy a large cingular agent in our area also close friends with motorola rep and cingular corp...he says"the reason razr is off the website is people are going crazy sending emails to cingular about the high price of the phone...in talking to other cing agents he found that they were already planning to drop price to at least 399.00 with 2 yr contract...he thinks cingular may drop price even lower because most people wont buy phone at this price...cingular apparently is rethinking their pricing position is his guess...he usually knows what he is talking about...

I need help/advice

I am not a phonenik. I use my phone solely, and only, as a phone for making and receiving calls. I want super reception and great sound volume in the ear piece. I also like the idea of a wireless headphone (since I use the phone alot in my car) so I want Blue tooth (which of course puts me in a more highly technical phone).

I don't need or intend to use the phone for anything else but I am mystified as to which is the best/better phone for my needs. I don't understand whether the technical differences will affect reception or sound. I know that whatever phone I get, there will be gadgets galore that I will never use. So, if you can tell from "listed features", and----since I want a flip/clamshell type phone--- which phone should I get---...

V 3 Gone

I just check Cingular website and the V 3 is gone and so it the v 551. Both phones were on there yesterday. I called yesterday to Cingular and nobody even knew it was on the Cingular's web page. So it might be that we won't get the phone until the beginning of the year. Cingular I wish you would get your S--t together and quit teasing us.
