Wallpaper Question

I know the phone has many wallpapers to choose from such as the different natures and I know it also has a sports display.

Here is my question: When previewing the different wallpapers to choose from in the display menu, the screens for the nature and sports wallpapers change very quickly. But when I set the sports wallpaper as the screen for when I open the phone, the screens do not change. How long does it take for the screens to start changing?

I don't own the phone but it is high on my list for my next phone when my NE2 goes into affect. I have stared at the display in the store when playing with it and it never changes. When I go to play with the 3300 however, it changes very quickly like it does in the display menu when choosing ...

speakerphone & headset with flip closed

Some questions, if anyone knows the answer regarding 4650:

1) Does speakerphone operate with flip closed? Can you answer incoming call with the flip closed?

2) Can you continue an existing call while wearing a headset, if the flip is closed?

Thanks in advance. I don't know anyone who now has this phone or else I'd ask them.

Downloading photos to the LG-VX4650

Is there any way to upload my own photos/wallpaper to the LG-vx4650? I have the Quicklink Mobile Phonebook package but I don't think it has that feature.

Thanks,

Ernie

Need Tri Mode phone 6100 or 4650???

I have been reading reviews for a while and I am down to these 2 models, LG6100 or LG4650.

Must have tri mode and I want to use the phone to make and receive calls (call me crazy). Reception and call quality is primary. Camera and other fluff if not of concern.

What do you think?

**HELP!--Speaker On/Off Glitch--HELP!**

I just got the LG VX-4650 yesterday. It seems like a pretty nice phone. However, it has a serious glitch. The screen says '[SPK]:Speaker On' when the speaker is off and '[SPK]:Speaker Off' when the speaker is on. Is this common or are the cell phone reviewer for CNET and I the only ones who have experienced/noticed this problem? Is there a fix for it yet? If not, will getting a new phone solve the problem or should I wait for a Software Update?

Vibrate Rocks My World

I'vehad my 4650 for about a week now and after finally figuring out how to activate the vibrate mode, I'd love to know if there's any way to quiet it down some. It almost vibrates off my desk and is very loud.

Am I missing something?

Thanks!

VX-4650 Charging Question?

I just got a VX4650 and the charger from my VX3300 fits it perfectly and appears to charge the phone. Any reason that is not obvious why I cannot use my existing charger for the VX4650?

Question about VX4650 and Bitpim...

Is there a way to find the original pictures that come on the phone? A few of them rotate between several pictures. I'd like to do that with a few of mine...

Just got my 4650 - display question

I did much research for a replacement phone that I use only to make calls - it is my only phone. So quality and reception were primary.

My first 4650 had a charging issue - would last for no more than an hour of talk and then it was dead. It was replaced easily at the store. Phone #2 - during the first charge the outer screen went black (not blank but solid black) I opened and closed it and all was well again - then it did it again - then I turned it off till the charge was full. The battery seams to be better, but this issue with the display is bothersom if it continues.

The reception, quality, speaker, voice activation, menus, all that are VERY GOOD! I would try another of the same should the display go bad.

If anyone knows w...

Does speaker phone eat battery?

I just read a review that stated that the speaker phone will consume batter juice faster than normal mode.

True of False?

If true, at what magnitude faster- roughly?

Ringtones

Does anyone know if it is possible to send a ringtone to the phone through messaging and save it as a ringtone. I know I could always use a usb cable and bitpim. Another question: can the phone play .mp3 files or only .mid?

Thanks.

Explain driving mode?

It appears that the documentation for the VX-4650 says nothing about Driving Mode apart from the fact that it exists. So what exactly happens in driving mode? I've figured out that if I flip the cover it automatically goes to voice commands, and that's cool. But what happens with incoming calls? Anything else worth knowing about Driving Mode?

Thanks!

Making my own ringtones for the VX-4650

Hi everyone,

I'm a total ringtone newbie, so please forgive my cluelessness. I'm interested in editing my own ringtone... and I don't mean the MIDI thing, although that would be cool too, but I want to edit a WAV and end up with a snippet of it as my ringtone.

I'm very handy with audio editing; I do it on a daily basis so I don't really need any help in creating the file per se. I just need to know what format it needs to be, and then what to do with it. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

thanks!
Ron

Standby battery life.?

Can any one tell me how is the standby battery life.

I am looking to get the 4650 and wanted to see if anyone with the 4700 or 4650 can tell me how many days they can go without having it totally drain, without talking and with moderate talk time.

I have the 4500 now. The standby sucks. Only about 1.5 days without any talk time. with moderate talk I have to charge it otherwise the next day it would be dead.

This is with a new VX battery.

voice dialing calls when phones is closed/opened

i have been looking on the boards but unable to find the correct answer. Is there a way to voice dial calls when the phone is closed? i know i can do "drive mode", which seems pointless for calling if i have to open the phone anyway- if i open the phone the phone i might as well speed dial the person. I am aware of receiving calls on drive mode, but i am interested in voice dialing calls when the phone is closed. ALSO, is there a way to voice dial (with the phone open) without hitting a key (i.e. just saying "call xxxxxx")?
