Bluetooth

4 Quick Questions...

-Does this have bluetooth?
-Any word on the price yet?
-Are there any features removed from the 710 on this phone?
-Would anyone buy this over the e815?

Thanks!

How to get this phone from Verizon

If you want this phone from Verizon and you are not a business you need to go to a Authorized Verizon Dealer and ask to have this phone ordered for you. If you want the SIM Card you have to have that ordered seperate as well. They havent released this phone in the stores yet but this is how they are releasing it to the public for now. The accessories are the same as the V710.

Verizons Backstock!

Well i finally think i figured out what Verizons problem is at least 1 of them. They like to BACKSTOCK! they have 3 warehouses backstocked of A840's and they have no room for any new phones thats whats holding up the release of new phones such as the e815 and the lg8100 so i am told they should start to be getting out these A840's by the end of the month which is close to the date of May 23 or 24 which is still a possibility but who knows with Verizon anymore i mean they have all 3 of their warehouses backstocked with this 1 phone!

Bluetooth activation on the A840

Just talked to my Verizon rep who stated that Bluetooth is disabled because of agreements with their ringtone and other content providers. Apparently, they don't have bluetooth locked down tight enough to prevent copyrighted material transfer (e.g. ringtones). Even at $.99 for a damn ringtone, it's all about the allmighty dollar.

That said and very off-the-record, is there any way to modify the firmware with any officially or unofficially available software to enable the bluetooth functionality that exists in the hardware of this phone?

By the way, the rep. also mentioned that this phone might have "enough" bluetooth enabled to allow connection to headsets and car kits. He was checking on this.

a840 sim card to use with other services

does anyone know if the SIM card that comes with the A840...

1. be used as a Verizon "sim" card even though verizon is CDMA?

2. what will happen if the sim card is used on a reg. GSM phone (like from tmobile or cingular)? - or is it possible?

3. if it is possible to use the sim on a cingular phone...will you be using verizon's or cingular's service (as in billing and rate plan)...i assume it will be on cingular's network..

sorry if my questions are confusing but any imput would be appreciated.

PhoneScoop Just Added A840 to Verizon Phones

I just was browsing the phone carriers and noticed that phonescoop has added the Motorola A840 Cell Phone to Verizons list of cell phones. I checked Verizons website they havent added it yet so it could be a error on phonescoops part or Verizon could be lagging again.

Carrier Question?

Has anyone heard anything about the A840 or v710 coming to T-Mobile or Cingular networks? It's frustrating that you have to change carriers to get the best phones.

quick question

could i buy the a840 in, say, the UK, and then just live in the U.S. Or would i have to pay more for that? Thanks. Oh and one more thing. If you're not in business and you want to buy this phone, how do you go about doing that. Besides ebay. How much is it?
