The phone is going back

Very dissapointed. I have tried hard to see past all the issues with this phone but just cant do it. As a real power user, over 10K minutes per month this phone will never work. I thought Motorola would not put out such a poor product but this seems to be the latest in a long string of bad Motorola phones. I would advise any one who is looking for a serious phone that this is not it.

Video codecs? MPEG4? *stereo* MP3?

Can any of the lucky buyers confirm which, if any, video formats this phone supports (MPEG4, WMV, 3GP,RM, etc)? Also, does anyone know if the MP3 playback is in stereo?

I couldn't find any info on google about this phone's supported video functionality, but if it includes MPEG4, this would become my dream phone. I would love to pop a couple TV eps or short movies on a 1GB MMC card to watch on phone.

Still looking for a clamshell with the 5 perfect features:

Stereo MP3
MPEG4
Flashrom expansion slot (SD, CF, etc)
1.x megapixel cam
Speakerphone

Hoping the MPx220 is the one!!

LET'S HEAR SOME USER REVIEWS!

For those of you who bought this phone, write a user review. This would give me an advantage since I'm considering purchasing the MPx220. 😎

ATT vs. Cingular

Waiting for the 220 to come to my area. Can anybody tell me if ATT has any advantage over Cingular? Or vice versa? Either in service or new features yet to come. Thanks to all.

MPX 220 Reception

I have a question for anyone...
I currently have the mpx200 and the reception is horrible on AT&T. I can't stand having to leave my house just to be able to use the phone. Is thing going to be a problem with the 220? Someone said something about the fact that the 200 doesn't use the correct frequency. The other question is...has anyone ever had an issue with the speak on thier 200 being louder for some calls and quiet on others?
Thanks very much for your feedback

Cingular vs AT&T

How well does Cingular work with smart phones? Should I wait until AT&T or TMobile release theirs?

Spam Filter for MPx220 pop mail?

Hey all - anyone know if there is an app for the MPX220 (or an old one from the MPX200 that works with MPX220) to filter spam mail coming from a yahoo pop email account.

I use the rules in the Outlook desktop version to filter spam (based on yahoo's instructions)..it works great...how can I do the same on the phone?

W/o, the email client on the phone is virtually useless for me as I will get hundreds of emails on each load.

thanks in advance.

Cool VR Trick

One user review commented on how the new speaker independent voice dialing app was "chatty." If you launch the app and press the "Settings" soft key, there a bunch of voice dialing customization options. In the sound menu, you can turn off the dialog prompts. I love this expert mode- very fast.

External Caller ID

I have a question about this phone, is there an option on the phone where it shows a picture on the out side of the phone. I know the Samsung e316 has it and i was wondering if this phone had it. Also when do you think that AT&T stores will have this phone by. Thanks

Bluetooth Compatibility with Palm devices

I have a quick question for anyone who might know. I really like this phone but want to use it with my Palm T3. Does anyone know if it's bluetooth is compatible with a palm device, in particular a V3. I want to be able to access the internet via GPRS (Disappointed that a phone of this caliber doesn't have EDGE but no phone has it all I guess), use SMS via my palm, dial numbers etc. I haven't been able to find any information on compatibility and I would hate to drop that kind of money on a phone which is incompatible with my T3 (we all know how Bill Gates likes to be proprietary with his technology). Also does anyone know if it is possible to dial a phone from a palm device via bluetooth while you are listening on a headset. I bought m...

This means that the phones should be in the store's inventory ready for sale...i have told u the official AT&T price before and it has not changed... i cant wait... Quick review

I have had every phone now and this one is not too bad depending on who you are. The camera is poor (outside only) despite flash. Built ok but less solid than the 200. Speaker phone is poor less than the 200. Signal and voice quality seem pretty good so far. sync is perfect all though it did power off and would not come back on without removing the battery. Screen same as 200. a little pricy for what you get. Will probably ger the razor v3 over this one when it comes out. Speet of the os is good. No real lag time. all in all the specs are better on paper than the phone actually is but it is not to bad so far.

MPx220 - Home Screen in MS windows Smartphone

Does anyone know if you can change the home screen from a list of features to an icon based features just like other Motorola phones (V505, V600 etc) or even symbian based OS phones? 😕

Thanks

MPX220 - SPEAKERPHONE - Loud Enough?!?

I currently own a MPX200 and a Nokia 7210 and switch between the two when the batteries run low.

MPX200 Speakerphone: REALLY SUCKS! Not much louder than the earpiece. Music and ringtones blare out nice and loud. Can't say the same about phone calls.

NOKIA 7210 Speakerphone: Calls are NICE and LOUD, almost as loud as the Nextel/Motorola speakers.

IS THE MPX220 speakerphone louder than those on most Nokia phones? Someone please tell me Motorola has at least increased the volume of their speakerphone for this model.

Ask my friend to buy the phone in Cali Best Buy with Cingular 2 year service to take advantage of the discount, then use it here in the east coast?

I think it's possible, but not sure if that person needs to be there for signatures and stuff.

Anyone know?

stay away from motorola mpx220

just a word of advice for you all.. as many of you know, I have had and sold several MPX220 and I have to tell you, I sold mine because the phone ended up being very bad. For starters, the reception quality is dreadful....Second, the battery life would only last for about 2 days stand by. That was with an upgraded battery that I bought in the store. Third, the volume on the phone was a disappointment.

The worst part about this phone was that the camera was beyond bad. I have to say that the motorola v400 had a better camera on it. Thats gives you a decent idea. THe flash was useless.

On a good note, this phones looks great. The bluetooth worked wonderful in my house up to about 30 feet. For those of you interested in this phon...
