NEW MOTO EMAIL!! Read it through...

Hey, check out this email I got from Motorola:

Thank you for contacting Motorola e-mail support. We appreciate your interest in our brand and our products.

Regarding your concern, we are excited about bringing the Motorola V710 and V810 to US market! Motorola is continuously launching new products. When cellular products launch, the timelines are often defined by agreement between Motorola and the phone carrier who will be selling the product on our behalf. Because of this, the dates that we are given are not always specific.

It's our commitment that when we deliver the V710 and V810, they will meet or exceed our customer's expectations. This requires extensive testing of the product by Motorola and Verizon Wireless. We are currentl...

Have you guys noticed...

Have you guys noticed that the more popular and more powerful V710 is being prepared to be shipped to Verizon Wireless stores soon, and the less popular, less powerful, but more attractive V810 is being pushed back??? I heard rumors that, that phone will come out in August, but yet no cares. It kinda gives you the sense that if no BT, no Sale. The hype all across America is over the V710. And believe me that when Verizon and Motorola give an exact date, ima be in front of their store waitng for them to open and get my phone. I havent even signed up with Verizon just to wait for this phone. I live in the NY and we're savage beasts when i comes to something we want and highly anticipated. So if any of you see on the 5 o' clock news a headline...

V710 Listed on Hellomoto.com

Was just looking at hellomoto.com and saw that on the drop-down list for phones, the 710 is now listed below the v600. Hopefully we really are one step closer to getting this one!

Sprint SE T608 vs. Verizon Motorola V710

I had been eyeing the 710 for some time & was convinced that I'd buy it as soon as it came out...but decided that I couldn't wait so I signed up for Sprint service, & bought a SE T608. Then I just got an email from Motorola about the V710 👿 (Coming from an ancient Nokia 7160 on Unicel). Bluetooth is pretty good, display in daylight does kind of suck, but the service here (Burlington, VT) seems to be great. I do have 13 days left on my trial period for sprint, so the question here....should I just return the phone / cancel the service & wait the 10 (+or-) days to get the V710...is Verizon that much better? I do think the phone is probably better...opinions anyone?

End of May, Early June!

Called both Verizon and Motorola's, and got the response to my question "Do you know any information on when the new Motorola V710 will be available?" and both Verizon and Motorola said "End of May, early June, no exact date yet"

Does it ever occur to anybody else.....

... that these folks are telling you a blandly plausable date because that's the fastest way to get you off of the phone and don't actually know?

I mean, think about it. Every customer support person has a timer on their line and is occasionally penalized for staying on the line longer than others. They, of course, can't just say "No, I don't." and hang up, because that's rude. You might have a talker who presumes that you actually know the date but won't tell them and tries to weedle it out of you, resulting in an unsatisfactory statistic for your manager.

Or, even better, that the CS team *does* know about these sort of forums, is sadistic, and is telling you bits of plausable information just to time it and see how fast it will g...

Bluetooth headset question

The headset that Moto is offering for the free giveaway is the HS810 but the HS820 is coming out shortly. Does anyone have an information on the new headset?

Lets Calm Down....

I think that we should all calm down. This phone is coming out and probably soon, but we don't know anything for sure. There is no reason why people should start to get emotional about this. Lets face it, once this phone comes out and a play with it for 6 months how many of us will be right back at this forum for the next upcoming phone? Its what we do, and so what we enjoy it! Whats the point in speeding up the process, were already putting ourselves in an early grave with the anticipation, lets just sit back and let it run its course, because at this point there is nothing we can do or say to change the release date...

Would anyone know if the v710 will be able to record a voice memo and at least 1 side of a conversation on the phone?
Thanks for responding

New Phone Question

I am new here and I have been look around on the forums to look for an answer for my question and I think I have yet to find it.
Here is my situation: I have 2 year contract from last July and I bought the VX-6000 with insurance. The phone is great but I want a phone that records video. I asked the people at the Verizon retail stores and the dealers that are authorized to sell their phones if I could get a new phone when my contract is over a year old and one of them said yes I could all I would have to do is to extend my agreement while the other said no altogether. My questions are that: if "something" were to happen to my phone would I just pay the deductible and get a better updated phone? Or if I just go in to the place when my contrac...

Spoke to a helpful moto cust. service rep today!

Nothing terribly concrete, although...

"We are not sure of a precise launch date, although we do know it will definitely be released during the first half of 2004."

"The full price of the phone will be somewhere close to $400. Since you have service with Verizon, you can expect to recieve a rebate between $50 and $100."

That clears my personal worries about having to wait all through the summer, and maybe into the fall. Amidst all this speculation, this is the most specific information I've heard in a while. (we're so in the blue that 'first half of 2004' can be considered specific 😉 )
