Phone Goes black/turns off?

I just got my phone... yesterday. hehe ive already learned how to use alot of the stuff on there, but this is my first phone i have owned.

i was curious to know if it is supposed to turn off hen im not using it. If i close it, the clock doesnt stay on the little window screen, it goes to black. Also sometimes if i have my phone open, i will fade to a darker color, and then go to black in a matter of 10 seconds. the phone doesnt turn off, it is just saving on power iguess. when i have the charger in the clock stays on though. but if i take it out, it turns black.

i dont mind, i just want to make sure nothing is wrong with it (so i can return it if i need to).

i like this phone alot though ^_^

thanks!

Can it be used while getting charged?

Hi,

I am kind of hung in the middle between buying the VM-A680 or Sanyo VM4500 and was wondering if someone could answer this question for me. I am trying to find out if you could use this phone while its being charged, my current phone will continue charging while I am talking on the phone. But people told me that the Samsung VGA1000 can't be used while being charged, you can plug it in but it will run out of battery and turn off, then you have to recharge it before using it. Therefore you can't use and charge it simultaneously. Can that happen on A680?

Greatly appreciate anyone answering this.

I read the other and there was no answer ... can you put the a680 on verizons network, or is it locked out?

Save Ringtones

I asked this question on another site and was directed here.

Using a free ringtone service I have been able to play a .midi file of the ringtone I want on my phone. I cannot figure out how to save this .midi file to my phone and use it as a ringtone.

Thanks

thank you for your reply, it was very helpful and i appreciate it 🙂 i havea couple more questions, if i were to get teh fair and flexible plan from sprint, and i used less than 300 minutes a month, would i get charged at a lower rate, or would it just be 35 bucks for 300 minutes? also, are there any other packages such as just text messaging or just online that i could add to the monthly charge? thanks 😉

kind of pricy

i totally realize all of the excellent features in the a-680, i want to get this phone, but i have some questions on pricing, do u guys think that the cost for the phone will go down by july? and also, if you wish to go online, send pictures/videos, games, etc. do u have to pay an additional monthly charge to get unlimited use of all of those features?
if you know any thing else about the phone as far as pricing or whatever, feel free to add, thanks 🙂

Samsung a680 ?s

Ladies and gentlemen,

I pose a few questions for you...I am about to purchase a new phone. I am within the 18 month window, and my samsung scp 6400 is kinda beat up. Well, i went into Bestbuy and saw the samsung a680, and I was playing around with it for a while. I really like the phone itself (size, features, etc.) But there are a few questions i have:

1. signal strength: how is it? I hate the original a500, and I would drop calls constantly. I could be right next to a cell tower, and not have a signal! WHen I got my Sanyo, I always got great signals. Never dropped any calls either.

2.how is the polyphonic ringer?

3.When I had the a500, I would have issues with the screen displaying images stored on the phone. example: I used a...

Question regarding battery life

Hi. I've had the Samsung VM-A680 phone for a month now and it's a great phone. I recently bought a desktop charger that allows me to charge the phone while also charging a spare battery simultaneously. I want to keep the phone in the desktop charger while I'm at home just to keep it fully charged throughout the day so it doesn't run down as I'm using it 😉 . But my concern is that this might negatively affect the battery life over time. Can anyone help?

M Reveiw

I use this phone for VERIZON WIRELESS.

Pros:
Size/Style/Weight
Camera/Camcorder (read CONS)
Setup/Phonebook
Signal strength / and its trimode. (if i waited for the A670 its only dual mode and a tad bit heavier)
Earpeice volume is Pefect.
Battery last long ON DIGITAL MODE ONLY

Cons:
The camcorder is just for kicks no real purpose ( but you can say you have it)
As for pics like everyother phone..generally Worthless
When set to TRIMODE Battery dies FAST!!
(but i have verizon and it works everywhere for me)

Phones Ive had:
Audiovox 8900
LG VX-6000
A530 Samsung
Samsung A610
Kyocera slider

BLOW THEM ALL OUT THE WATER!!!!

Quiet beeping or pinging noise on the A680

Anybody else having issues with a lite/quiet beeping or pinging noise in the earpiece on the A680?

I just upgrated from the A500 (which I was very happy with) over this past weekend and noticed this noise on one of my calls. Is this typical? Should I take advantage of the 14 day window and exchange the phone? Think this might be a bug? I had the A500 for about 2 years and it was a great phone for me, never had any problems at all, just felt like it was time to upgrade for some new features.

Any advice/opinions are appreciated.

Thanks!
