Nokia 6230

in the 6230,when i choose dark background,and somebody calls,the phone displays the name directly on the background,and the name is unreadable because the font color of the caller's name is balck,isnt there an ortion to make the phone display the name in a box(like 6610) on the foreground,thnx for anybody who helps 🙂

I have a question on the Nokia 6230,

I now have the Nokia 6200, which holds signal pretty well, but is very slow in finding signal, (even when power cycling it, it still takes time, or just doesn't find any)
[I used to have a Siemens S46 which was a brick, and doesn't have the voice quality and RF the 6200 has, but it found signal in seconds, it always looked for signal, if I walked outside (from indoors that had no service) it would get signal in 3 sec. as appose to my Nokia 6200, which could take 2-3 minutes, or even more..]

In short my question is, how is the rescan time on the Nokia 6230?? (Please compare it to some phones, including the above mentioned 6200, 1100 and S46)

also how does it compare reception wise with the 6200?...

How is it that this place can offer the 6230 with a Tmobile plan, but Tmobile itself doesn't? Anyone shopped here before?

Any news on the 6230 tf8251? I noticed that the expected date here is for August...what do you think?

I read in a previous reply to another thread that you can convert mp3 to aac for smaller file size that the mobile will be able to play. What converter do you use to convert the mp3 to aac... is there a converter program within PC Suite?? If there is, I couldn't find it, so how do I use it?

I can not get the transfer files part of datasuite to work with my phone. It just comes up with the message not supported!

Can use music editor, picture editor and sound editor to get files on but can't take files off and move them around.

Anyone else having this problem?

Tried with IrDA and Bluetooth, versions 5.8, 6.0 and 6.1

5.8 will let you create a new folder to put files on but if you then close Datasuite down the folder is not accessible again.

This 6230 looks awesome. If it were a flip i would be very interested in it. Its only flaw from what i could see was it is the traditional bar form that nokia uses. If only Samsung produced a quality flip w/ all of these features, i would have to have it. 🙂

Hi, is the 6230 a flip-open phone like the Nokia 6820 sold by ATT? I hope not, but can't quite tell by the description. This thing looks great, at least when comparing on-line! Thanks tons.

Does anybody know if there are any bluetooth problems with this phone? I am debating between this phone and a V600, but with the V600, it does not ring if you have the bluetooth headset connected. Kind of presents a problem if you're used to just putting the headset on only when it rings. 😛 If anybody knows any possible bluetooth flaws/problems, please let me know.

Any word yet if this phone will include an Instant Messaging client, such as AIM, ICQ, or Yahoo!? It should considering most of the new Nokia phones support at least AIM...just not sure. Let me know if anybody has some info!

I have the Nokia 6230 with cingular. i brought the phone over from europe and i can't seem to get on to the wireless web or use MMS. i called tech support in the US and they dont even know about the phone and CIngular was just as helpful.

I need to enter the cingular IP but i can't find the menu they are talking about,

Does anyone have any clues?

The Nokia 6230 is now released. Nokia's international site no longer says "coming soon." And there are legit auctions up on ebay. Only problem is I might want a version with GSM 850. Hope at&t carries it. Also does at&t support GSM 900/1900?

Hi, I recently got a 6230 which I'm very happy with except this one thing. When I try to transfer mp3 over it doesnt work if you dont have enough memory on the phones memory which is 8MB. But as most of you know it has a 32MB card which is seperate. This is most frustrating because you have to move all your stuff over to the 32MB card, I wish you could combine the memory together which would make it a whole lot easier!
