Contacts

Does anyone know how to profile calling card entries with this phone. You can only enter 22 characters in the contact numbers, which does not allow the prefix and suffix info from the calling card

Samsung SCH-a530 vs Samsung SCH-A650

Has anybody tried the new SCH-650 yet? The SCH-a530 has gotten very positive reviews from users but unfortunately it is only a dual mode. I travel a lot and need a tri-mode phone. I am hoping that the SCH-a650 (tri-mode) has the same good qualities that the a530 has. If anyone has any other suggestions for phones I'd love to hear them. (I'm with Verizon and am fairly technologically challenged.....don't want all the bells and whistles)
Thanks

Samsung SCH-A650 vs. Audiovox CDM-8600: which better?

I am hoping someone here has tried both phones and can share their experiences. I currently have the Audiovox CDM-8600, which I just got 4 days ago, and it is my first cellular phone so I have nothing to compare it with. Like the Samsung, it is tri-mode, something I REALLY need.

Which phone is better able to pull in a weak signal? I live part of the year in a rural, fringe, analog area less than 1/8 mile from a no-service (for any company) zone. My primary concern when selecting a cell phone is it's ability to receive a signal. Voice quality is next. Bells and whistles are minor concerns to the above. I don't care how much a cell phone costs as long as it enable me to make and receive calls.

I have asked Verizon which of their tri-mode...

Tri-mode? All-Digital? Something fishy is going on here

I just purchased the Samsung SCH-a650 from a local Verizon store as it seemed to have the best price/features ratio of anything they had for sale... All the in-store placards and info about phone stated it was a tri-mode (2 types of CDMA plus analog AMPS service)... Being able to access the old analog networks is important to me as I often go camping in places like West Virginia or upsate New Hampshire where analog AMPS is the only option... I realize that the celluar companies are eventually planning to convert all the analog networks to digital... But for the next couple of years I'm sure analog AMPS will still be the only way to connect if you're in the boonies...

Anyway, I get home and the first thing I notice is that the outside of t...

Help with custom ring tones

I have entered some of my numbers in my phone book with the custom ring feature (icon of the musical notes) so I can identify who is calling. When they call the phone only rings on my default ring not the ring tone I have saved for the number. Does anyone know how to get this feature to work? Thanks.

Phone gets hot after only a few minutes...

Does anyone else have this problem with the a650? I chose to have the back light go off after 5 seconds but it still gets hot after just a few minutes. Mostly concentrated around the blue OK button? Any way to fix this?

Thanks!

Great Phone---a650

I've have sold quite a few of these phones and have had excellent feedback from customers. Easy to use, tri-mode, good size. I thought no outside lcd would be an issue, but quality has definitely allowed this phone to overcome that. Would recommend to anyone who needs tri-mode, but does not want a camera phone. Great price right now!!!

Downloading Ringtones, etc.

Hi Everybody,

Since the Get it Now feature doesn't yet work on the A650 is there another way to download ringtones and such to this phone?

Wouldn't it have made sense to get this feature working before releasing the phone?

I was never told of this shortcoming when I ordered the phone :-(

Thanks,

Mike

All digital?

I just got this phone... about two hours ago.

All the online specs say it's a tri-mode phone, but when I opened the user manual the first page says, "All Digital Mobile Phone."

What's the deal with that?

A650 Shipments

Just saw boxes of A650's in Incheon (Seoul) loading onto airplanes bound for the US. I think they were headed to Dallas. I counted at least 2400 headsets and I'm sure there were more. Good sign? 🙂

VI660 vs A650

Okay, the VI660 has been out long enought the price dropped, and its the hottest sprint seller in a long while. Don't you think its time that Verizon released its twin? the public doesn't care that much about not having outside caller id. Everyone who has a startak wouldn't trade it for the world, and the 3100 is a good seller. Verizon needs to get off their butts. Sprint paved the way with the 660, why can't verizon just give us the friggin phone?
