MPX200 problems

I just purchased this phone yesterday and cannot seem to figure out some nuances.

In contcats I am not able to search for the second or third letters of a key.

For instance if I hit the #5, the js come up, but if I hit the #5 2x you would expect K. Doesnt happen; the phone starts to look for some other association with hitting 5 2x.

Also, when I quickly scroll through the contacts some of them have an icon next to them indicating they are stored on the SIM card. Other times they are on the phone.

Called MOTO and AT&T support; neither of which had a clue. Is their anybody out there that knows anything about this?

Reviews

I know this phone is not the greatest phone ever, but its a heck of lot better than the reviews are letting on. I mean come on, the review by Brunello Salesi totally bashed this phone. First of all he was using it on T-Mobile. This phone has never been made for T-Mobile. Maybe he bought the phone off of ebay or something and its just a bum phone.

Hissing noise coming from the screen? MP3 player not working? T-Zones not working?

I think his phone is just busted and rather than replace it he came on here and made everyone think its terrible.

I sell these and I personally own one and I think they're pretty good. There are things that can be improved but its the first smartphone, it won't be perfect.

Just thought I'd give my opinio...

Motorola Smart Phones and other providers?

Any rumors on if other providers will be carrying the MPx200 or a variant? For example will Verizon offer this phone? I know the current phone is supposed to be GSM and that I believe Verizon is CDMA, however Motorola has created variant phones in the past for this type of situation.
