sound at start up?

Does anybody know if and how you can turn off the sound that plays when you turn the phone on/off when it is in loud or soft ringer mode?

I cannot figure out the alarm function

Is there a way to make the v810 work as an alarm like to wake me up in the morning? Something that repeats instead of just playing once?

Thank you.

where do you get your ringtones from?

easyedge (US Cellular)
or do you get them elsewhere also. Also, the v810 can't play lyrical ringtones right?

Thank you.

Speakerphone with V810 feature instructions

Just to be clear for everyone figuring out the "lost in translation" instructions with the speaker phone for the V810:
WHEN CONNECTED---push the o.k.. button for 1 second and it will prompt you with a request for use of speaker phone. Softkey Left (top left) is for yes and Softkey Right (top right) is for no. To go back to regular phone to ear placement just push the o.k.. button again. That's it.
With the proper volume setting and adequate distance, your caller will not even know they are on speaker phone. This particular feature of the V810 is top notch and one of my favorites.
Keep in mind that battery usage increases dramatically with speaker phone use since it requires extra juice to power the external speaker. Hope this helps.

Things I don't like about the 810 after one day

I don't like that it does not have an alarm feature. I don't like that the external display does not always show at least the time. I don't like how the four way shortcut thing is always shown over my wallpaper and i hate itap.

otherwise it seems to be an alright phone.

Is the V810 worth buying?

I am in the process of getting a new phone and I visited my U.S. Cellular store the other day looking for my phone. I really liked the V810 and when I talked to the sales rep about it, she told me that I didn't want that phone. She said there has been a lot of problems with it so far. Is there anyone whos had the phone for a while and suggests that I buy or dont buy it? Thanks

Beware the Mobile PhoneTools software for the V810

I've had my V810 for a few weeks now and still really like the phone and highly recommend it. I want to pass along a warning about the Mobile PhoneTools 2.0 software though. While I was told by Motorola sales that I could download pictures from my phone to my PC and vice versa, this is not the case. I just got off the phone with Moto Tech support and they said that the V810 from US Cellular won't support this capability. The guy told me USCC had the feature disabled. This applies to all multimedia...ringtones, pics.

V810 on Verizon

I just got this response from Moto on the V810 from Verizon. Does this mean that it hasn't been tested and could be?

Thank you for contacting Motorola e-mail support, we appreciate your request.

Regarding your request, the availability of the different Motorola phones also depends on the service provider that will be working with the phone; every Motorola launched phone has to meet the expectations of the service provider, and according to the information we have, the v810 has not been checked by Verizon yet. Unfortunately, we do not have any kind of information about the availability of the v810 through Verizon Wireless.
