FACEBOOK question

Confused by a recent FACEBOOK update made available on my DROID X (through market). Currently, I am running Facebook version 138; the update say Facebook FOR ANDROID 1.3.2; is this the appropriate update/replacement?...what is throwing me off is the name (--FOR ANDROID) and the version number (does 1.3.2 really replace 138?).

How much is the X if you sign up for one year contract

I am due for my "new every two." Do I get that discount if I only sign up for a one year contract? I have had different verizionwireless reps tell me different things. One person told me I could get the phone for 169.99 with my discount. Another told me it would be 269.99 with no discount.

Has any only signed up for one year? Any insight on this would be helpful. Thanks!

Headphone Jack

I have the original Droid and it has a problem in the headphone jack. If the cord moves much at all, the phone thinks the headphones have been unplugged which results in either the external speaker turning on or my music being paused. I did an exchange on the phone because the original was doing this and the replacement does the same thing. Several other people I know have the same problem. What I am wondering is if anyone with the Droid X is having this type of problem?

Droid X Questions

Hey all. Been poking around the forums for awhile now and feel as though I've finally made my decision on a phone but wanted to get people's thoughts.

I have the Voyager now (Don't ask me why). Anyhoo I love the touch screen option as I've varied opinions on it. Is it hard to type on this phone? Also I hear the battery isn't that great on it....Can I get thoughts on that as well

Thanks

Why is something so simple not on our X?

How can it be that on such a high-end phone there is no visual indicator when the battery is charged? It blows my mind that a feature so basic is not on this phone. Even the first droid and the incredible have it,not to mention every phone i can think of. Crazy

Motorola webchat phone support? what a joke !!

So, i went to Motorola's website to see if i could lodge a complaint about the design flaws/software issues that i have experienced (as well as a few of you) with the Droid X. i logged on to the tech support web-chat application, and below is the transcript of the discussion. I can't believe that they not only deflected answering the questions, but they were completely dismissive !!

i guess the customer is never "right" !!

i post this transcript for you to laugh, and possibly embarrass Motorola's tech support management into addressing very real flaws with the phone.

Gripe along with me, and maybe they'll actually fix these and your issues (post them)in the near future !!

When Will Droid X be available

I am up for my new every two tomorrow. I'd love to get this phone but everytime I check the website the date keeps getting pushed back for shipping. Now it says August 31st. Has anyone ordered it and had it shipped early? I'd love to get my hands on it ASAP!

Good Video player App?

Video player is terrible. Anyone know of a good app to replace it?

I apologize: Not sure if this is an android forum topic or if the player is unique to Droid X...

blue light & blank screen

Latest weird behavior (there's been a few) is on incoming calls the screen is blank, only vibrate, blue light comes on and stays on after person terminates call. Only way to clear blue light is to make an outbound call.
Thoughts?

Played with a Droid X today, and....

I really like it. I was looking at some accessories at a local Best Buy just a couple hours ago, and this lady from VW walked into the mobile phone section at a local Best Buy with a brand new Droid X in her hand. She came stopped by to show her new gadget to the BB boys. I happened to be there, and she let me play with it for about 10 minutes. It's built quality is much better than that of its older brother. The screen is BIG!. I thought 4" screen would be to much, but when I actually saw it in person it completely changed my mind. I currently have the Storm 2, and Droid X made me think I'm carrying around the first cell phone ever made. 🤣
I want a Droid X!!!

DROID X Problems

1. IMAP email account cannot communicate with server; even though settings have been confirmed with webmaster, email in/out does not work.

2. What happened to the selection of specific security certificates (is SSL) which could be done on DROID?

3. Is all of the NYC/Metro arae considered 3G marginal service...according to the phone, 3G is a fleeting event; cannot hold onto 3G long enough to complete a data event

4. Facebook notifications are not appearing on the notification bar, even though activated in settings

5. Google(.com) cannot obtain location...says "location unavailable" and even when update, complete failure...regardless of whether in a 3G are or not.

6. The phone is arbitrarily changing port settings that we...

Issue with Car Dock for Droid X

I bought the car mount on Thursday at the same time I got the phone. It's a nice accessory and I'm sure it would be quite useful, but I returned mine. Here's why:
The phone didn't fit in it correctly with a case on the phone. The car dock does have an insert that you slide out if you have a case on your phone. It's supposed to make the space bigger to accommodate the extra thickness. It wasn't enough extra space. The phone still did not fit. I could force it to come pretty close, but it was still in kind of crooked. The case I have is a really thin semi-hard silicone case that I got from Verizon. It's so thin that my friends (who were holding the phone) had to look twice to even notice that it had a case on it. I don't want to have to...
