HTC Droid Incredible

I found this on the Android forums, a little tip to help extend your battery life. They also have a Seidio 1750 extended battery for $50 that is apparently no thicker than the original. Here's the details on extended the stock battery.

Menu > Settings > Wireless & Networks > Mobile Networks (second one) > Enable Always-On -- checked by default, I unchecked it.

It says in its description that it may cause battery drain 'on certain' networks.

Gentleman, I think by certain, they mean CDMA.

I lost the first 15% of my battery (100% down yes 85%) this morning with the phone sitting asleep while I showered and got dresse...

We all know that this phone has amazing features and potential but does anyone know how well this device works as a "phone"? At the end of the day all the cool apps do me no good if i can't make or receive calls.

I have created contact/custom ringtones using the nifty built-in editor and Saved them. They work for a day and then disappear from both the Contact and the list of available ringtones. Not sure if this happens when powering down or recharging or what. Any thoughts on how to prevent this?

My phone takes about 2-3 hours to charge using my laptop. My iphone took about 30 minutes. Is this normal?

I'm having problems playing converted videos. Whenever I add a small test converted clip i'm able to play it on the Incredible but whenever i convert full length clip it will not play. Is there a limit to how big a file can be. The full length video is about 2.5 GB.
I have tried mp4 and wmv and i get the same results.

Can I get my songs from Itunes over to my Incredible? How would I do that? I need details 🤭

I bought my Incredible on the day they came out..
~Have not been able to turn on wi-fi..I did download from the market a wi-fi app.
~Cant upload vids to You Tube (going back to wi-fi) But no other way that I know of besides using sdcard. Can't email them?
~I don't find a way on photo settings to store photos on SD card instead of the hard drive..been having to manually move them.
~Facebook app is crappy..I'm used to the push facebook on my crackberry. So now I have to hit refresh..lame. When someone leaves a photo comment the app takes you to the album page but you don't know which picture and it certainly won't let you see comments when you select a photo..must use mobi...

Is there a way to send ringtones?

So there are so many options for alerts, noises, and vibrations for every use and application with this awesome phone. My question is, can someone tell me how to make it not vibrate when I make a call and the call goes through? Right after it starts ringing it vibrates once. It seems like I've tried turning off every vibration looking for that one, but no luck. Any suggestions?

For those of you who have this phone does it have a security feature like the motorola droid to put in before you can use the phone to prevent someone else from using your phone. If not does it have some type of password feature that does the same. Thanks for the info am getting this phone in a couple of weeks but I like this feature on the motorola droid.

I am trying to sync music to my phone. Whenever I TRY TO CONNECT TO COMPUTER as a mount drive, I get a message that phone is unable to find sd card due to an abnormal theme. Does this make any sense to anyone?

I tried playing back embedded YouTube videos on various websites on 3 different Incredibles VS. same playback on MoTo Droids. When I clicked on the videos the YouTube player expands the videos to Full Screen. However,
the MoTo Droids played the videos back VERY smooth, and crystal clear, BUT the same videos were choppy & pixelated when played back on ALL 3 Incredibles (Similar to playback on Droid Eris). What gives? I thought the faster processor on the Incredibel would provide better playback not worse. Furthermore, the MoTo Droids version of Android gives an option for Hi Quality playback when I click on the menu button during playback, but I can't find this option on the Incredible. What's Up With That?

Do you really have to go thru the whole "you can now safely remove hardware" every time the phone is finished charging from your pc? And what if you have charge only selected on the phone? I know its not a big deal but it would be nice just to be able to unplug the dang thing especially if you're in a hurry. Thanks

I've heard that the Incredible does not download your e-mails to the phone, but instead stores them in what is referred to as a "cloud." Accordingly, I was told, if you lose your phone connection, you will not be able to see your e-mails. If this is true, then, for instance, you would not be able to view your e-mails while on a flight. Does anyone know whether what I heard is correct?

The HTC comes with 7 screens, with #4 being the default, center screen. I can add/remove and drag most everything from screen to screen, EXCEPT: screen 3 is email and screen 6 is Text. I can drag screen 6 to screen 7 (only if 7 is unpopulated), but is there a way to Remove/Re-add it elsewhere? The Messages widget/program is a small icon, not the nice view (widget?/program?/shortcut?)that is used on screen 6.
