qwerty kEYBOARD?

I thought this had a slider qwerty key board. Since the release date has been announce and I've seen the EVO 4G on the web, I don't see it showing or discussing an actual keyboard? Does it have one???

Does $29.99 tethering add-on have a 5GB ceiling for 3G, or is it unlimited regardless of 3G or 4G?

I'm inclined to switch from my iPhone and at&t, but I'd only do so if I could tether the phone and have unlimited data regardless of whether I were using the 3G EVDO Rev. A Network or the 4G WIMAX network, especially given the fact that the 4G network is not yet available in New York. Does anyone know whether the $29.99 tethering add-on will have a data download/upload ceiling before they charge you extra or whether the plan will offer unlimited data regardless of the network technology used (or in my case, available)?

HTC EVO4 or Android users, service question?

hey all
this is a general question for any carrier you may be with.

can some one answer if they know if this is true or not?

so I was told by ATT customer service that you are now required to always have a data plan if you use any smart phone w/any carrier at all times!

meaning if I buy a Nexus or HTC for cash and want to use it on there network I have to always have a data plan, that it's mandatory!

They said all carriers are now like this? Is this true?

The reason they gave me is because supposedly they need a data plan @ all times to be able to received phone updates! BS, hello! WiFi!!!

Can you all please provide input! Thanks fellow Geeks!

So TORN!

I need some opinions/help/guidance here...

I'm going to get myself a new phone in the next two months...I currently have a 9630 Tour on Verizon.

I was going to go Incredible, but it's backordered... So now it's either Evo or one of the new Motorola Droids (Droid 2 or Shadow) on Verizon. I don't think T-Mobile is HSPA+ in my area, so it's pretty much between those three...cause AT&T was pretty unreliable when I tried them last fall.

What do you all think? Evo or stick it out on Verizon? Cause I was running speed tests on the Incredible and getting 2mbps down...which is decent.

Lets Vote People!!!

This is to find out more or less the percentage of people that will be buying Evo 4G when it comes out. Simply put "YES" if you are buying it or "No" if otherwise.

EVO Email

I have never used an android phone. I am currently using a palm pre for all my email accounts 4 hotmails, 1 yahoo and 1 gmail. All which sync perfectly with the palm. Will the EVO handle all my accounts in the same manor?

Explain the Fee

Come on Sprint, explain the fee already. Just because the phone has a 1gz processor and a kickstand does not warrant a $10 EVO tax.

This is a lousy phone

1) The phone lags like crazy. It's slower than my Nexus One by far.

2) The battery on 3G barely lasts a day, and you have to pamper it. My iPhone (which is almost 2 years old) and my Pre both run laps around it, as does my N1. If you turn on 4G You can kill the battery in 2 hours. . Friggin. Pathetic.

3) 3G is downright slow. I barely pull above 900kbps on this. My iPhone and Nexus One both pull in twice that speed on AT&T's 3G Network. The Pre even does a little better.

4) Sense stinks. I've already said it, but having Sense isn't worth the pain.

When I saw the calendar, that was enough for me to say no

I have anxiously been awaiting this phone as well as many others. The reason why I returned my first Sprint droid phone (i already forget what it's called) is because of the horrible calendar integration. When I saw that the EVO has has the exact same calendar set up as the other droid phone, I immediately said, "no thanks!" The calendar is horrible, it doesn't alert you of overlapping appointments and I do recall the alrms being faint.
I also do not want to pay the $10 fee when I can continue to perform everything in a professional manner through my BlackBerry.

I hated the first android based Sprint phone so I don't even think I will give this one a second look. Time to stick with what is tied and trued and just upgrade my BlackBerr...

t-mobile to sprint....is it worth it???

i have been with t-mobile every since they were Voicestream....yeah, a long time!!

i have never thought about switching until the Evo came out and i wish the HD2 was an android phone or I would have no issue or 2nd thought. I love the plans and everything sprint offers (even though i heard they will shut you down if you are over even 1 penny) but i have been a loyal cx with t-mobile for so long, i don't know if i can make the change unless the phone is....INCREDIBLE....or, there is a way i can get the phone used on t-mobile network!!

WHAT DO YOU THINK??

Evo Fee

I'm happy for all the people who are willing to pay 10$ for 4g because they have access to it but the fact is most people don't. At the moment about 30 million have access to it which is < 10% of the country. 120 by years end 33% of the country. So charging 10 for your flagship phone and saying its for a service that only 10% will have access to is retarded. I'm fine with sprint charging for the service but allow me the option to buy your clear best phone without having to use 4g and pay for it. I think sprint should take it to the next level and have a mandatory charge for 5G, obviously people are blindly willing to pay.
