it is in stores but now I'm thinking about the Motorola V810

I called my local Verizon store (Reston,VA) and they do have the SCH-A610 in stores to see but not buy yet (you can order one).

But now I'm stuck on holding out for the Motorola V810. The Motorola looks to have some really nice advatages, support for analog, picture id, 640x480 resolution, MMS, lighter, etc...

Does anyone know if the Samsung can take 640x480 pictures (probably the lowest resolution worth printing)?

What are people's feelings about these two phones? The FCC approval for the Motorola is very recent, but it seems like the buzz is that it will come out very soon.

Thanks

Dan

Instant Messenger Capable?

I was looking at Verizon's FAQ about the AOL instant messenger feature currently only available on the LG6000. It seems there is an application to download to use IM. Does this mean that a phone such as the Samsung SCH-610 will not be able to get the software since it is not BREW enabled? I guess they could release it with it installed, but I'm wondering if the the lack of BREW on this phone could be a serious flaw. It does say 2 way text messaging, but that seems less than ideal if you can't use it like AOL IM.

610 dummy phones arrive!!

Verizon has received the dummy phones today that they show to customers on the showroom floor!! This means they receive the real phones a week later and put them out days after that--i talked to a inventory manager and was told they would be out by jan 19th at the latest!!!

Why Wait ??

Can anyone suggest why I should wait for the Samsung 610 when the LG 6000 is readily available now thru Verizon. What are the advantages / improvements ?

FINAL DROP DATE from the creator

Met the man who made and launched the LGVX6000 who gave me info he could get fired for. This will make up for my drunken message. The Samsung SCH-A610 will be out the first week of February. The CDM 8900 had problems with people porting their numbers in so their fixing it. The guy said he would be by again for another update. This is accurate inside information I swear.
