Motorola V600

This is the latest from motorola......
currently here at Motorola we do not have an exact date for the release of the V600 phone. This is due to our technicians are testing the phone thoroughly in order to launch the high quality product that our Customers are expecting from a Motorola product. Nevertheless, we are hoping to have it released by the middle or the end of December. As for the carriers this phone is going to be available through, we do not have exact information but you may think of AT & T, Cingular and T-Mobile which work on the GSM network.

I just have to say that Motorola is seriously dropping the ball on this phone. This phone should have been out at least by Thanksgiving to gain sales this holiday shopping season. They better get this phone out soon or the features it has will be outdated and this will have been a big waste of time. 🙄

I went to my local (Southern Cal.) ATT wireless store today. The salesperson told me that although she didn't know anything about the V600 and they don't get any warnings about new phones, they normally get a mock copy (non-working) phone about 1-2 weeks before getting the actual phone in for sale. They haven't received anything for the V600 yet.
She did say to check the web (attwireless.com) as they would have info on the phone before they get them in the stores.

I just came back from a motorola conference and they announced that the long awaited V600 was having major problems with FCC approval. They expect that the technical issues will be corrected by the end of the 2nd quarter of 2004!

Will the V600 have AT&T EDGE GSM technology. I hear that this is better than G3. Does anyone know.

Also is there a release update date yet for the US with AT&T?

😁 the reason for the hold up is the the fcc has not given it's final blessing as of yet! but as sson as they give it expect AT&T to release it the next day. If you look in the fall/winter edition of mmode you'll see the v600 displayed within the pages(no mention it) but you do see if shown. Not to mention the rest of the phones slated to come out before the new year! So don't lose hope it's an FCC thing!

Has anyone used one of these yet? Maybe in Europe? I need to replace my Nokia 3650 on AT&T and was going to get the SE Z600, but this looks like maybe a better way to go. Also because I use bluetooth a lot, and Apple iSync with Apple Address book and iCal for my calendar I'm hoping this Motorola will work with iSync. The Nokia works flawlessly with Apple iSync-address book and iCal.

my question is if i get BOTH the MPx200 and V600 i should be able to switch SIM card between both phone if it uses the SAME Carrier(AT&T)

Hello, I have an old nokia digital phone and i've read that At&t has a GSM upgrade program, and I want to get this phone. Any ideas on how much this will cost.

When is this phone being released in US..? I heard end of next week for Europe... And maybe beginning of November for USA... Does any1 have confirmed information..?

The Motorola v600 phone cleared FCC regulations and is approved for use in the U.S. as of Thursday, Nov 13 2003.

as this phone appears to only be comming out for att and cingular 😢 me being a happy tmobile customer not wanting to switch service providers would it be cheaper to buy this phone w/o service and then have it unlocked or buy it unlocked? im thinking the first ways "cheaper" (i have a feeling this phones gonna be egleast 400 dollars w/o service)

Hey all, I'm currently a Nokia user (8265) and wanted to know how the UI for Nokia is compared to Motorola. What is difficult in making the switch?

I've heard from 2 weeks to about a month. Does anyone know when the V600 is REALLY coming out? I hate all this hype cause I want the phone really bad, lol!
