Weak Vibrate/Modify Profiles

Has anyone else noticed the vibrate on this phone is very weak? I've missed calls and am not sure if it's just mine or if they're all this way.

Also, how can you modify the existing profiles on the phone (i.e. Normal, Loud, Vibrate, etc) - there's not an easy way to edit them like with my Curve, or maybe I'm missing something.

Thx in advance for help!

Palm Treo Pro or Blackberry Tour 9630?

I can't decide which one to go with. Pro has touch screen, Wifi, etc. The Tour has Global abilities, nicer camera, etc. Any thoughts?

Blackberry Tour availability for Sprint employees?

Any Sprint employees here have any news on the Tour 9630 availability? I can't get a straight answer as to when it will be available for employees. I'm glad to see it's already a hit with our customers!

Going to take my time

I'm due for my upgrade in October. I was planning on getting a Curve but think I will go with the Tour. By October I figure most, if not all, of the bugs will be worked out. Why don't people realize they should NOT jump into getting the 'next best toy' until it has been out a few months and the manufacturers work out the kinks? It seems the norm for BB is to put out the newest product as quickly as possible without doing all of the necessary R&D to ensure it is as flawless as possible. Instead they rush it out, people scarf it up, and then they complain that there are issues. Give it time and be patient people. I think the Tour will be great if given time for the flaws to be fixed (loose battery cover, sync issues, OS issues, etc.).

Why no WIFI on the BB Tour? :? Anyone know if the Bold will come to Sprint anytime soon?

So I have been waiting and waiting for Sprint to release a version of the BB 9000 aka Bold. This phone appears to have everything else BUT the WIFI that I was so looking forward to. Does anyone know if Sprint will release another BB world phone, this time with WIFI? As a former Verizon employee I would have expected the numbers of the phone model to have nearly exact, if not more features then the previous model. So here we have the BB 9000 (Bold) and the BB 9630 (Tour). Clearly a model upgrade by numbers alone. Yet this thing doesn't have WIFI 😡 . This sucks!

Blackberry Tour vs. Sanyo 2700

I can't decide. I kinda like the design of the 2700.

So.. after a few bumps in the road...

my Tour is finally working! I had no issues activating it, but I did have an issue with the internet services working. My Tour was displaying 1xev instead of the 1XEV. I think someone here previously mentioned they had the same issue. So after spending 2hrs with tech support they were finally able to get it up and running! Other then that I'm totally in love with my Tour!

Annoyances with the Tour

I have been a long time Blackberry user and the Tour is so far a fantastic device, however, there are some things that I'm really annoyed with:

1. You can't turn off the shutter sound on the camera
2. Even when you force the light on in camera mode, it doesn't come on until you snap the picture
3. The message list doesn't have the options to "filter sender" and "filter subject"
4. Verizon removed the OTA firmware upgrade (Wireless Upgrade) option from the Options -> Advanced Options menu
5. You cannot transfer media to the device via Bluetooth
6. No themes are currently supported, even the multi-platform generic ones
7. The Storm ships with an 8GB MicroSD card, and is on sale for $149 with a $70 rebate, whereas the Tour is $1...

Sprint finally admits to "System Issue"

Below is an email i just received from Sprint about my Blackberry Tour order. I put this order in at 12:45am on July 12th, but for some reason it was put on back order and other sprint customers who ordered after i did, have received their Blackberries.

Dear xxxxx xxxxx,

Thank you for your recent order from Sprint. We have experienced
strong demand for the Blackberry(R) Tour(TM) which has placed your
order, or a portion of your order, in backorder status.

While every attempt is made to fulfill orders in the order received,
a system issue earlier in the week resulted in some orders being
shipped out of sequence. Our shipping commitment for the
Blackberry(R) Tour(TM) remains 5 to 8 business days based on date
of order.

Your ...

Will the Verizon Tour have usable GPS?

I finally made the switch to the Storm when the new software update came out - one of the main reasons being that the GPS is now unlocked so it works with all the 3rd party apps. Does anyone know if this will be the case with the Tour?

unlocked GPS on Verizon Wireless!

Not sure how this hasn't come up on this forum yet. Believe it or not Verizon released the Tour with unlocked GPS. Google maps is tracking me perfectly as we speak. Looks like Verizon is finally moving in the right direction! It also sounds like all future Verizon BB's will have WIFI as well. Now if they could manage to be the first to release a 4G Iphone they'd be set up perfectly for world domination!

Texting while on the phone

Do you think this phone will let you text while talking on the phone?
I know the Pre will let you, but the curve 8330 didn't.

Backordered already? Come on SPRINT

I placed my BB Tour order with Sprint early yesterday morning since unlike Verizon you had to order it online or through telesales which was stupid in my opinion but now they saying its backordered already. What gives? 😡
