Save more $$$$$

I went into the Sprint Store to buy this phone. They gave me a coupon to save an additional $50 to purchase the phone online through their website. I have to wait a few more days for this phone, but the addional savings are worth it.

Finally, they had the phone on display in the store. It's nails man. The camera is excellent and takes a great picture in low light. The only downer about the phone is that it only has 2X zoom.

Flipping through the pictures that were taken did seem to take a little extra time then the motorola zine or the samsung omnia, but the slide out qwerty keyboard more than made up for it.

These are just my intial thoughts on playing with the phone briefly in the store.

Straight Dope please

Ok. I see where most people rate the camera on this phone as top notch. However, the most recent post says the camera quality is not good. Someone give me the straight dope please. Camera quality is very important to me. I currently have the Sanyo M-1 and find the camera to be top notch. Can anyone compare the 2 camera's? I'm still waiting for Sprint to make this phone available. They say they are on back order!

I want my old touch theme

Im talking about the original touch. No 3D Crap, just simple and faster digital clock theme. If its possible to revert it back to the original touch, I would really apreciate it. I miss the contact cube so bad. So much easier and faster.

I'm even thinking of updating my pro with the 6.1 ROM update for original touch. Would this work?

Thanks for any info.

Okay...

I'm a sprint customer now, and I'm thinking of grabbing this phone because it has the one thing that I definitely want that the Diamond doesn't have, which is a slot for the memory card.

However, I'm looking into a few other options as far as phones go. Here's what i'm looking into.

Treo 800w
Instinct
Palm Centro
Touch Pro
Katana Eclipse.

Can I get some opinion on what everybody thinks I should do or should I just go with the Touch Pro and get it over with?

HTC Touch Pro or HTC Touch Diamond?

I am somewhat confused phonearena.com says a HTC Touch Diamond is coming out in January 2009. The HTC Touch Pro is already out. Are these the same phone or is the Touch Diamond coming out for Verizon.

battery life w/texting, surfing web and calling...good or bad?

i was hoping to buy this phone through sprint but mostly just plan on using it for texting, surfing the web and simply phone calls. ive been reading the reviews and most say that the battery doesnt last long...but usually has to do w/all the programs in use.

my question is "will the battery run out when im only texting or on the phone w/someone? or can i expect it to last for a few hours like a regular phone?

Messaging with Verizon's HTC Touch Pro Question

Hey!

I just received the HTC Touch Pro and, I have to say, I am not sure I love it. Or even like it. Big learning curve, I know...this is my first smart phone.

Anyhow...does anyone know if you can do "enhanced" messaging on this device? I will certainly call Verizon to ask this but I figured I would look here first.

I sent my first text message to a friend without error. However, when they replied (a message of about 400 characters), they received a message that [enter my cell # here] does not support enhanced messaging. That just seems crazy to me. Was it a fluke? I de-activated the phone immediately because I knew I would be getting a flurry of Christmas texts that I did not want to miss.

Honestly, I want a smart phone b...

HTC Touch PRo vs Omnia

I am up for renewal with Verizon and can't decide between these two. Can the touch pro send/receive pic messages? I see that MMS isn't supported. Any problems with call clarity with the Verizon phone? Any help would be appreciated.

memory question

Is the reduced memory really that crippling to the phone? The phone as more flash and ram than the Omnia and I have not hear any issues with memory on the Omnia. Looking for honest fact please.

spin wheel

I remember reading somewhere that the circular ring around the dpad is touch sensitive. Does anyone know if there is a way to utilize that as a spin wheel to move quickly through menus or contact list? I have an lg-vx8550 and LOVE the spinwheel. Not enough phones that feature. I'm hopeful there's a way to replicate that with the touch pro's touch sensitive ring around the dpad.
I want a smartphone and pretty much am settled on this one, but it would be really great to not have to give up my spin wheel. Any info would be very helpful.

Old SERO plan & the pro

hi all,

thinking of replacing 2 phones I currently have on sero plans.
LG Fusic
Treo 700WX

I want both of them to be the Touch Pro. anyway I will just be able to upgrade the phones with incentives without changing plans, as I was told I would need to do from the sales person at the sprint store.

thanks

This phone is so SLOW>

Thanks to Verizon it is so slow....I've had it for a week now and I'm most likely going to return it. There are many hacks to improve it's use and speed, but it should be this way out of the box.
