BlackBerry Curve 8330

Anyoen else have a loose data connection? When i connect and pickup the device the phone will connect and reconnect tot eh pc as if the cable is nto secure...is that common?

Question: I read that when your phone is running on 1xEV that it is continuously checking for EVDO and that it runs your battery life down faster....If that's the case, mine is always running that...is there a way to get it to stop so that I can have a longer battery life?

Also, are you able to send mms msgs on this phone without having to send an email. Can I send picture msgs through a normal mms or can it only be sent through email?

I'm considering new phones and one of the things I like best about my current phone is that I can make my own mp3 ringtones on my computer and condense pictures to an acceptable size, save them on my TransFlash card for my phone, then save them to my phone to be used as Individual Contact Pictures and Individual Contact Ringtones. (I have to text the music files to myself then save them from the Sent message currently) Can I get the same result from this phone? Either by the same method or a different/easier way?

What is the difference, if any, between the Sprint version and Verizon Wireless version of these phones?

I know that the GPS is not crippled on the Sprint side but what other differences are there?

There are light bluish tints on certain parts of my blackberry curve screen. It can only be seen on the white screen. I see this on laptops and LCD monitor screens but should this be on my blackberry? I should mention that this is a new replacement phone and I am pretty sure my other phone did not have it or I didn't notice it.

I downloaded Google Maps and installed it. The location was way off from my position, so I did *228 and option 2 to reset my roaming towers, and it was still way off.

I never had this issue with my old 8310 when I was on AT&T, the location finder was right on.

Any ideas?

On the Verizon BB, do you have to pay extra for the GPS service? I know that Verizon Navigator is 9.99 a month, but doesn't BB have their own GPS on their phones? Thanks

I get this message. It says please use a disk error-checking utility on a computer. The card has been in there for two months. WT heck???? I've never taken it out now it just doesn't work. Can't get anything off of it. What gives???

Does anyone know if there is a docking station / cradle / pod / powerstation that can charge AND sync the 8330? The two main ones out there (powerstation and charging pod) only seem to charge the phone, but you have to put the USB cable in the side of the BB & connect to PC to sync.

If anyone knows of a docking station that charges AND syncs by just putting the BB in the craddle, a link would be much appreciated!

I recently got a blackberry curve 8330 and when I make a phone call I hear alot of hissing noise in the background. I am not for sure if it is interference or what??? What can I do...its driving me nuts! 👀

When we finally do get the Curve we should all do a Pin exchange so we can message each other on Blackberry Messenger.

Is there any 3rd party software that gives you the option of using predictive texting on the Curve? It is an option on the Treo and it works great.

How does the VZW Navigator work on the curve? I have it on the Dare and love it (Navigator, not the dare).

Does it include the traffic and weather like the Dare? Is the speed on downloading the data fast enough for freeway travel?

First I would like to thank everybody who inputs on this site, I find alot of useful information. Now my question. I have had the Curve for about 2 months and I have noticed that some of the keys make a "creaking" sound as I type. Has anyone experienced this? Thank you. 🙂

it seems that the D on the screen is no longer there and i cannot check to see if a message was received. I called verizon and was told that this feature has been removed for storage purposes. Anyone else have the same problem?

I have ran into several incidents where I get a message saying I can't do something because Javascript is not enabled on this device. Can someone tell me do we have the option to enable this and if so how do I do it? Thanks so much guys 🙄
