Camera Zoom and VZW Tones

I didn't notice anyone ask this so I will!

Is there a zoom on the LG Dare's camera? I couldn't find one and the user guide didn't point one out. If there isn't, that is a major bummer.

Also, I saw the threads that indicate that people have been able to download ring tones through VZW Tones. Verizon told me that it doesn't work with the Dare right now. So... how did you guys get it to work??? I'm dying to get my tones back that I had on my Env!

QWERTY keyboard video?

He left out the one thing I wanted to see! Is it going to be possible to type quickly on it? Does it do the iphone pop-out thing? (Does that even help?) The phone looks sweet, but once the novelty wears off the input efficiency is going to be key.

full price for Dare and insurance question

Can anybody let me know the full price of the Dare and I would like to get some opinions about purchasing a Square Trade warranty via they're website instead of using Verizon's insurance.

Phone Memory Versus SD Memory

Hi,

This is sort of a dumb question, but is there any advantage in keeping pictures, ringtones, etc in the phones memory versus putting it on a 1GB card? Is one way faster than another?

Thanks,

Mark

music to bluetooth ????

Love the phone .... question;

I have an older mono Bluetooth headset, that works fine wth the phone, no issues connecting, making calls, etc.

I was able to easily transfer MP3s from the PC to the phone, they play fine, but I was expecting them music to go to the headest when it was connected ??

No ???

is it because it is not a Stereo headset ????

Also, one small issue - the Voice Command "Play" will correctly highlight a music track, says it is going to play it, but then plays a different one. Usually, but not always, the first song in my list ?????

Anyway to get it to play a Play list via Voice Command ? or just a track ???

Initialization Error

I've got 308 songs in the My Music

fairly often, when hitting the next track button, it freezes and after 10 seconds it gives me an "Initialization Error".

then it 'reads songs into memory" and starts working again, but will do it again later. zIt usually doesn't get thru all 308 songs during this reads, but errors, starts over, and finishes the second time.

GPS

Has verizon squashed the GPS on this thing like they have with other models? Does it work without subscribing to VZ Navigator?

Have had this phone for a week...

and I love it!!! I don't take many pictures, so it taking a couple of second for the shutter to snap isn't a big deal for me.

I have utilized almost every feature/ability this phone has to offer, and I must say, this is easily the best phone I have ever carried from Verizon.

My only gripe, it is taking a little longer to get used to on the full keypad for texting. I find myself using "word" on the keypad in it's upright mode instead of the full keypad in landscape about 80% of my messages.

BTW, nice review!!!

Just bought the DARE

Just replaced my Samsung SCH-U740, which I loved, on an impulse buy of the DARE. Great decision!! I absolutely love the phone, great functionality and features, lighter than I thought and a good sized phone. I've found call quality to be better than my Samsung on both ends of the line. I also like that the LG holds more text messages than the 50 I could store on the Samsung. Touch typing will take a little getting used to, and I see what a handful of you meant when mentioning a little difficulty scrolling through menus, I found that it'll sometimes select something instead of scroll but again, touch will take a little getting used to. Overall I'm very very pleased!

Music Player problems.

The music player is the most important feature for me. Followed by wed browsing, email, texting, pictures, then finally the actual phone.

We'll I'm feed up with this music player. First off, songs randomly stop at 4:34 seconds. You can select the song again and it will play through. This is a totally random, but frequent occurrence.

But worst off, I loaded 1754 songs onto an 8MB card and only the first 254 songs are accessible in shuffle mode. Other songs are accessible by artist or album, others you simply can't play from any menu.

So I started trying things. I took my perfectly good 4MB card out of my old Chocolate and the same problems happened. So it must not be the card.

So I took it to a store the day it was released...

Dare to have applications?

So I'm on the fence. I've played with the iPhone, the iPhone 3G, and the Dare, and I don't know what to do. I believe the Dare has better service, and I like the phone's embedded features more so than the iPhone's, but it's the third-party applications that I think may sway me.

Is there any word on whether or not the sort of applications the Apple iPhone has will be seen on the Dare? I'm not talking about straight ports, but just that kind of feature set makes the phone even more appealing.

Thanks for the info.

some Dare-ing questions...

I just got the Dare and am very impressed with the phone. Upgraded from the enV, and 8300 before that. Each phone I've had, I've thought was pretty much the best phone (at that time). I'm happy to say the Dare continues this tradition.

I do have some questions about it, and I apologize if they are a tad long-winded...

Bluetooth
- How do I pair the Dare with my computer? Or from phone to phone? I hear it has this capability, but since I've never been able to before, don't understand why this is good.
- Is there any special hardware/software needed to pair with my computer? Does my computer already support bluetooth profiles?
- What kind of things/files can be transferred this way?

Video
- On my previous phones...
