Outlook Calendar Sync and Playing Games using applets on the Instinct

Any idea on how long before a 3rd party application is available to sync the Instinct to an Outlook Calendar?

Also how does games that operate from applets work on the Instinct?

I play a lot of Texas Holdem and would love to play on my phone.

Thanks!

Good News! Update Coming to Samsung Instinct to Use Keyboard in Java Apps

Good News! Update Coming to Samsung Instinct to Use Keyboard in Java Apps like Opera Mini, Google Maps, etc. I don't beleive this update is included in the one that I previously posted about. It is probably coming after that. 🙂 🙂 🙂

According to the latest post made in Sprint developer's forum, Sprint plans on implementing the MIDP 2.0 standards compliant UI (things like Text Entry via keyboard).

This is a great news for all Sprint Instinct users. If they can accomplish this, we will be able to use a large number of freely available Java mobile applications (such as the ones from http://www.getjar.com/) on the Instinct phone!

http://www.instinctinsight.com/comments/browseThread ... »

As with all new product launches, there are a few bug that needs to be worked out. Based on your feedback and our own testing we've been looking at a few issues and plan to release an over-the-air update for the Instinct by the end of the month.

Here are the categories of issues that the product management team has been looking at and an example of something that will be fixed. This list is not a comprehensive statement of everything that is gong to be fixed but should give you an understanding of the types of things you will see corrected.

Physical device: better volume though bluetooth headsets

Picture Mail: reduction of 'system busy' errors when sending la...

NOT a replacement for a Q or BB in any capacity

This phone is advertised as being able to sync
with corporate email systems through
OWA, well its been about a week, and
neither Sprint or forums or even the owners manual could help.
THe only solution a sprint rep could offer
was to "install software in windows and it will copy email to the phone"
Uhhh, NO... this is 2008, syncing email to a phone via cable doesnt equal wireless email.

I recommended the phone be returned for a
HTC Touch or Mogul or Treo 700.
Im the IT guy at work, and Ive been setting up these types of phones, I had hopes for this phone but its not going to happen.

This phone is NOT AT ALL sucessfully mimicking
the functionality of activesync or blackberry.

Otherwise for a personal phone to use with GMAI...

Can't figure out Myspace on my Instinct

I can get to the myspace.com website, but can't figure out how to type in my username and password. How can I get the keyboard/touchboard to come up??? Also, I got a message that says can't use mobile.myspace. I wonder why??? I used to be able to use it on my touch!?

I love my instinct...but its taking some adjusting from having the touch first...even though the touch was a piece of crap!!!

Thanks for anyones help!!!

Also, what are you guys putting as your favorites??? Everything is so readily available, that the favorites almost seem silly. But maybe that's just me???

Thoughts???

ATT 3G will be equal to Rev-A?? Nonsense!

Some of you need to get over it, Att's own website says the iphone will have a max speed of 1.4Mbps down. (and that's in limited spotty areas) Apple also said Att's 3G will only be 2.8 times faster than Edge. Sprints Rev-A has a top speed of 3.9Mbps down, Rev-B soon to follow with 7+Mbps down.

About to return....Can anyone convince me otherwise?

I can't stand the touch-lag, menial browswer limitations (home-screen handcuffs, no favorites, inability to toggle/save browser objects such as images), email structure, and especially the proprietary OS which prevents me from using my slingbox or using adobe mobile.

Anykind of remedy for enabling slingbox functionality, mobile flash, etc. would be greatly appreciated. I have to believe that the hackers out there have thought of some way to overcome these obstacles.

Thank you

Everyone keeps saying that the Instinct isn't a true PDA phone. Well, please tell me what exactly a PDA phone is, and let me know why the Instinct doesn't fit in that category.

wow research before you buy the instinct

I couldn't wait to purchased the instinct.
What a disappointment! The web is not what is advertised. It will not open up PDF files. I purchased this phone for our business. After talking an hour & half to Sprint tech. support, they had us call Samsung & talked to their head support person. I was told he has the instinct & is disappointed in it also that is does not open PDF files. Until a program is written for it which may be 3 to 6 months the phone is useless for my business. If anyone has figured out to open a PDF file please let me know. Otherwise this phone is going back before my 30 days are up!
