my buddy has the pearl and i tried hooking it up to his computer using that desktop manager for black berrys, software.. everything worked fine until i went to the application loader to install some themes i had him download and it said that the phones software was not right and to contact verizon or RIM ... does anyone have any ideas on what would cause this problem or how to fix it .. i suggested going to the verizon store and getting a software upgrade (he has had the phone for roughly a year and there must have been an upgrade since then i would assume)
My wife and I just got new BBs last week from Verizon. I personally chose the Curve, she chose the Pearl for the "pinkness" and the size. So far we both love them. However, she has had two issues in the past couple of days that are quite annoying and shouldn't be happening.
First off, she receives about 25% of the SMS/MMS sent to her. Don't know if this has to do with the recent activations or what. The second thing that is occurring is that as of yesterday, when her alarm goes off, it is not making any audible notification. We have checked that all the options are set as they should be (e.g. Out of Holster, In Holster etc.). And after the alarm, she even went to see if she could preview any of the ringers where you set your default ringe... (continues)
I want to exchange my Glyde for the Pearl as I'm w/in my first 30 days and am getting tired of this non responsive touch screen. Was wondering if VZW locks out 3rd party apps being installed on this. I would hate to have a smartphone like this and not be able to fully utilize it bc the carrier locked those features out.
I just got my first Blackberry yesterday. I'm pretty much an idiot, but trying to make my way through understanding the device. Please don't laugh at my question...I am wondering what the benefit is of being able to sync your e-mail with a phone when the same phone can use the wireless internet to access your e-mail. What am I not following here? HELP!
Just the other day all of my phone logs and text messages were deleted. I went to the Verizon store and they were able to solve the text message problem (i think?) but weren't able to help w/ the phone logs.
Anytime I make or receive it will not be stored in the call log. Does anyone have any advice???

I have Verizon service and sometimes when I make or receive calls the person on the other end can hear me but I can't hear them.. I don't think it's the service I think it's my Pearl.. Has anyone else had this type of problem?? Thanks
I couldn't believe this but I might have a certain setting wrong on my phone, but when I type out a text it will only allow me 160 charecters! Thats hard to believe. Anyone else notice this? Can this be fixed?
Also, can anyone take video without having a memory card inserted? I can't! 🙄
I have been having a problem with my calls. At times when I make or receive a call I cannot hear anything but the person on the other end can hear me.. has anyone had this problem?? If so is it a problem with the phone or service?? I have verizon service. Thanks!!
