Killing Me

I think I want the Pearl. My local store, Westlake Ohio, has it in stock. They not only will not sell it to me but will not even bring one out of the back to show it to me. I admit that I am an impulse buyer. Maybe I need to impulse my way over to ATT. 😕

Data, Text, Nav = $60 a month....yikes!

I dont think I can afford to get this damn phone! To get the consumer BB plan, plus unlm text, plus VZ Nav it looks like it will cost you more than $60 bucks a month--and thats not even including voice minutes!

I know verizon tiers data prices so that if you pay for more minutes your data is cheaper, which I also think is a little unfair. I use more text and emails nowadays so I can use fewer voice minutes.

I dunno, Im glad to see verizon is adjusting a lil bit to market pressures. But if they can bundle vcast/nav/tv....why cant they bundle email/text/nav and offer a more competitive overall price?

price of pearl

I am under contract with Verizon and my new every two is not up until 6/08. I would like to get a pearl but a rep told me I would have to pay full price of $299.99. Don't make any sense that a new customer that has never paid them a dime can get one for $199.00 w/ $50.00 rebate. Anyone else have any luck getting them to work with you on the price?

Data Pack

I was told Sprint is going to sell the Pearl w/ a $29.99 data pack. That sounds like a pretty good deal and this Pearl definately sounds better than the original Pearl. But I'm not a big fan of the SureType keypad, so I think I'm going to wait for the Sprint BB Curve that's coming in February.

GETTING MY PEARL MONDAY

IS ANYONE ELSE GETTING THEIR PEARL MONDAY? I PREORDERED IT TODAY AND THE REP TOLD ME THAT IT WOULD SHIP ON THE 8TH. JUST ABOUT THREE HOURS AFTER I MADE MY TWO ORDERS, I GOT SHIPMENT CONFIRMATION AND TRACKING NUMBERS FOR MY ORDER. I TRACKED IT AND IT SAID IT WAS PICKED UP. SO IM CONFUSED WETHER VERIZON IS JUST SHIPPING ME A BOX WITHOUT A PHONE IN IT OR THEIR REPS JUST DONT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT......MOST LIKELY BOTH

Blackberry 8703e or BB Pearl 8130?

Hey all,

I currently have the 8703 with vzw. I am eleigible to do an early upgrade to any phone if I dare to. I was looking at the pearl and Im in love. Should I go and upgrade my 8703 to the pearl? One thing that is holding me back is the keypad setout. On the 8703e, we have one number and letter per button. On the pearl we have multiple letters in each keypad, which can be an annoyance..

Any ideas and or opinions?

Thanks! 😁

MMS & Navigator Question

I've read on a different forum that this version of the Pearl should have VZW Navigator and MMS. Does anybody know if this is the case?

Voyager Pre-Order

Recent Info from Phone Arena: LG Voyager (VX10000) : 11/8 Pre-Order; 11/21 Launch. Do you really need to pre-order on-line in order to get it as soon as they release it? Can I just go to the store and get it there on the 21st? Has anybody used this pre-order option from Verizon before?.
Thank you

🤭 🤭

I would be embarrassed to release such a nice phone with a crippled interface.

The iPhone was good for the competition. It inspires the manufacturers to cater to the fancies of the American public.

Now that the technology has advanced sufficiently, lets combine it all into one device and call it the veal chop.

Voyager Screen size = 3' Iphone = 3.5'

Screen size is obviously a huge factor when it comes to the competitive aspect. Check it out.

Improvement, but still too Verizon-ish..

I'm not an iPhone user or lover, but since these will inevitably be compared to it, and promoted as the "iPhone Killer" (what a Verizon rep said to me the other day), I have to say, these are no iPhones. Just because you add a touch-screen to a phone, doesn't make it an "iPhone Killer". I think we will see every manufacturer start to come out with integrated touch-screens now that the technology has been developed (evolutionary, maybe).. But Verizon still suffers from their lame, restricted UI's. Although they have jazzed up the icons and menu's (somewhat), the review and pictures still indicate its not as fluid or developed as the iPhone. I think its an improvement by the handset-maker (LG), and I hope we begin seeing many more like th...

pearl 2

Just noticed on the Blackberry site, it says the Pearl 8130 is slightly thinner than the 8100. But on the video here, the guy says it feels a little thicker. It is also heavier than the original. Really looking forward to this phone. I know it's a year old, but pretty much anyone that has it seems to love it, and now we have more features.
