Does the tilt use standard mini-usb accessories?

It looks like the Tilt has a non-standard shape to the USB port but at the store where I looked at it they were charging it with a standard mini-usb plug. I assume this works OK since the phone was working and indicated it was charging. How about headphones? Is there a separate jack or do you use the USB like on the RAZR?

Good investment?

I'm in college and I don't know if I should get this phone. As a student, I'd like to get this phone since it's pretty much a pocket pc and i'm hoping it will make up for my broken laptop ☚ī¸ . But the kid in me is leaning towards either getting an iPhone or a V9. Help?

Questions for Tilt owners (Micro SD & GPS)

I've seen on Cnet that you can get up to a 4gb micro sd card on this? Have any of you got a 4gb?

Also, what GPS software do you all use? I'm thinking about getting tomtom b/c it has a great interface & is user-friendly. I like Telenav but am not interested in paying monthly for routing service when GPS is built into the phone!?!? Google maps is cool but isn't really a navigation software. Any advice?

Voice Command?

Phonescoop lists this phone as speaker-independent voice controls. When I play with the phone, I only see an option to record your voice for each contact you want to add a voice tag to?????

Does anybody have this phone with either manufacturer installed or self-purchased microsoft voicecommand or any other speech-recognition?

XP/Vista Sync on Tilt

I have a desktop that runs on XP and a laptop that runs on Vista and I would like to sync the tilt to both of them. Can I do this? I like this phone, but am unsure if I can do everything I want with both operating systems.
Thanks.

Tilt vs. Helio

I need a cell phone first and foremost. Some days it will see high usage during prime time hours, others not at all. But overall, medium to high usage.

I also need to be able to access hotmail and yahoo mail since my work firewall blocks it. I need to be able to play MP3s and instant messaging on yahoo and windows live is a plus.

Tilt or Helio or a third option?

HTC 8925 vs. iPhone

🙄
I was wondering if someone could help me out, I'm in need of a new phone, as of right now I have the ppc 8125 with cingular, now att. It's about time for an upgrade but I'm having trouble deciding between the iPhone and this phone the HTC tilt 8925.

I like the iPhone b/c it's a cool phone and it's ahead of it's time. But even with the software updats that were just put out, it still lacks features that I like, for example custom ringtones, games, voice dialing, cutting and pasting and mms msg.. (yes I do use those features on my current phone)

I know that with the 8925, I'm already familer with how it works and it's seems to be a nice upgrade.

If someone out there has had the chance to own both phones could I have your opi...

Tethering the 8925

This is in regards to the tethering experts out there. I have never tried tethering a phone before because I was not aware it could be done. Apparently, the wireless modem in this phone will allow to tether it to your laptop to use the internet connection. I have a Windows Vista PC and have tried many different ways in trying to get this done. I know you do not need a certain data plan to get this done although you may pay a lot. I'm still trying to figure out why it's not working. Anyone had any luck tethering their 8925 to a Windows Vista PC?

question for reviewer and other that may have experience.

i currently have the 8525 and love it. of course since the tilt has came i want it. the most noticeable difference to me outside of the ones you have pointed out in the video, is the the directional pad when the slide is open is no-longer on the right, its now on the left. when i 1st got my 8525 i thought it was a complete PITA to have the d-pad on the right, now i've gotten pretty used to it, so much that i have to adjust when i pick up a psp or like device. lol. im sure i'd get used to it but, did it seem like a noticeable difference to you at first?

other feel free to comment as well. i'm possibly gonna get one and just wondered. im sure user NOT upgrading from an 8525 wont be all that affected but....just wanted to see.

not insurable

I just placed the order for the htc 8925 and was just about finished when I asked the cust serv rep to put the insurance plan on, she said that the pda phones are not insurable, you cant put insurance on them, that was enough to make me cancel my order right away. These phones are to expensive to not have insurance. Is there another way to get insurance, I really want this phone but not if I cant have insurance on it.

8925/Tilt vs 8525

I am still looking at the 8525 but then the 8925 popped up. I was wondering what are the pros and cons between these two?
