HTC Touch (CDMA) / XV6900

Touch on verizon (vx6900):
1. any way to modify the flo cube? I seemed to have found a way to remove the ie shortcut on the 6 sided apps but cant figure out how I did it or how to reinstall the ie shortcut... or if I can modify other ways to what apps I want.

2. any way to connect wifi not through cell service? Seems there ought to be a way to connect? If can connect through usb to pc to wifi then I should be able to connect with some type of usb device plugged into phone? Is one not yet invented or do I need a new phone?

ok so ive had this phone for about 2 months now and whenever i touch my phone to use it, it will process the touch as some where else. like if i touch the top left corner it might be selecting the bottom right part somewhere or what not. idk if theres a tweak to fix this or maybe an update? any help would be great.

it doesn't do this all the time but enough for it to be a problem and annoy me.. and ive also restored it. thanks!

hi i am a treo palm user i have the 700p...i am leaning towards this htc touch but.. i am not familiar with windows mobile and i (dont all yell) kinda like the palm software even though it is outdated for my calendar. how does the calendar/appt and contact function work on this phone. i use my treo primarily for the phone, pictures checking my gmail and the calendar for my appts which i schedule through my contacts. it is very smooth and easy to use. i dont use the qwerty keyboard all that much as i can add the name of a contact to my calendar and schedule the appt that way. why the wanting to change. i want a stylish looking phone a lighter one and hope one day to try out other features that this phone appears to have. given what i hav...

I have not used the Verizon version of this phone. When it's turned on it's side, does the screen automatically re-orientate itself to landscape mode? If not, is there a quick way to do it, a single button etc? I just don't see myself typing in portrait mode, can't envision the keyboard being big enough to do so, even aftermarket keyboards.

has anyone tried to use a WIFI micro SD with this phone? I used it with Treo 700 but not sure if I can do the same here as I do not intend to purchase a data plan. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

I have had the xv6900 for a couple of weeks now. I'm having a couple of issues that I can't seem to fix. First, when I get an incoming call, only a small part of the number will show up and I can't see the person's name at all. I read a thread that said I could reset the phone when this happens, but who wants to reset it every time?! Also, when I am talking on the phone my cheek tends to push the buttons. Is there a way to lock it when on the phone? I used to have a Treo and it had a lock function for when you are on the phone.

just curious if there is any information on, or if anyone is using an 8gb micro sd card in their touch. also, if it works as is, or if it requires any flashing or upgrades to the phone....

Does anyone know how to turn the sound off when a text is sent. I see where to turn off/change when a text is received, but I don't like the sound every time I send a text.

I have just gotten the Verizon 6900. I am finding it nearly impossible to see the screen outside.

I have heard this is common with touch screen phones. Any reasonable solution?

I am within the 30 day trial and I have been considering the Curve. I need a quality phone first and email access second...everything else is fun but not primary.

I am a Verizon customer and in the market for a new PDA/Phone. I am considering the XV6900 or the Samsung i760. I am impressed with the WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities of the i760. I know the XV6900 does not have WiFi, but can someone tell me if it can sync to your PC via Bluetooth? I'd appreciate any additional comments as I consider between these two units.

Verizon will have this phone available in late April and I really want to purchase it when it comes out. Does anyone know if this phone has threaded text messages? This is not a must have, but it would be nice to have it 🙂

When I was using this phone in the store, if you swiped the screen to the right some new screens and icons would appear (like quick menus, speed dial, etc). Anyone know if I have to do something to turn this feature on? I can't seem to get it to work now that I actually bought the phone and am setting it up.

Wanted to buy the XV6900 but while test-driving it at Verizon I hit a major problem. When calling my office to retrieve voicemail messages left there the access code is **, a double star. But the XV6900 doesn't recognize ** and treats it as a pause. Strange because most Northern Telecom switches use the ** access code. It would seem that there is a way to program the touchpad to get the intended double **. Anyone know a work-around?

I see in E-Ticket they were supposed to come out with an update for the touch so the Sprint Music Store could read the 4GB card. does anyone know if it ever came out or if its available anywhere.

I am having an issue with my Sprint HTC Touch volume. When I am talking, the volume drops real low on occasion, then returns. It has happened on the hand set as well as blue tooth. I checked to make sure I had full signal and that the volume button wasn’t accidentally touched. Both were OK. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I am looking for the largest capacity that is the same size as the original battery. I have seen up to 1500mAH. Has anyone seen any online (OEM or non-OEM) that they could recommend? Thanks Ebay is fine.

how do i get the spb mobile shell and the touchpad 3.0 and how do i install them?

Does anyone have iGuidance version 3 installed on their HTC touch in order to use GPS? Is so, how did you get it worked? Any help would be appreciated. Oh by the way I have GPS Blue-tooth receiver.
