Will the mini SD card from my 8300 allow me to play mp3 tunes-or do I have to download them from "get it now"?

Font/Numbers on front display

I had my LG 8350 since April 2007 and I love it.

However, after a "software update" (version 03)done at a VZW store in January 09, the font on my front display (where it shows caller names or number) has changed with this update and it is very difficult to read - where as before the software update it was fine.

Anyone else having this problem? I brought it to the attention of a VZW store manager and she was as confused as I was.

When viewing video list, can I change from thumbnail to filename?

So far all of my videos show up initially as a thumbnail picture. Can I change it so that I can view a list of file names instead. I have over 100 videos and it takes forever to find one.

How to (quickly) lock the keayboard in VX8350

Hello,
I use to have older LG phones and they had a
very good tool to lock the phone in one touch:
by pressing "#" for few seconds, the phone
went to lock and I had to press right upper button plus password (four digits).
Is it something similar available in VX 8350??

Thanks

Dying phone

I've had my VX-8350 for about 8 months. During the past couple of months, its transmission and receiving have deteriorated to where the phone is useless. My old phone, a Motorola V276, although inactivated, shows 4 bars while the 8350 shows none. The phone is fully-charged.

I'll be heading for the Verizon store in a day or two - I was just wondering if others have experienced a similar problem?

Thanks
Ted

Messaging Question....

Does Verizon charge you when you send a message to someone else? Here's what I'm getting at.

I've been able to send create ringtones and then send them to myself and then it gives you the option to save it as a ringtone. I know it's probably a stupid question but does Verizon charge you to do this even if you send the message (mp3 ringtone) to yourself.

Thanks in advance!

How to Turn off 'One Missed Call' Alert....

Is there a way to turn off the one missed call alert. I've got into the Get it Now My Ringtones section and set the All Messages Set As as no ringtone but it still rings!

Here's why I need this like this. I need to have my phone on so only the people in my contact list will ring. I have it set that way and it works. I have weird sleeping hours but I get calls and I do have the restricted calls (calls not in the contact list) ringers turned off, but I still get the one missed call tone and it wakes me up! Is there a way to disable this.

I'm returning it tomorrow for a Gz'One if I can't find a way because I know the Gz'One has this feature.

Thanks in advance!

Question before I choose...

Is it easy to text on this phone? People apparently love the feature that shows the tests on the front screen. Also, is there any functionality to the calendar or is it just a basic nothing calendar like everything else that isn't a WMO or BB phone? Thanks for your help...

8350 Battery Life

I am going on my third week with the new LG 8350. All is good but I question my batteries life. I get no more than three days out of my battery at best and I am a one to two call a day, at most, user. These are not long calls either. Typically 5 to 10 minutes tops.

Is this typical? I would easily get 5 days out of my extremely antiquated Nokia 6019i.

I turned off the EVDO function and this did not help a bit.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Ringtones Won't Go Through

In trying to email ringtones to my 8350, some go thru and some are bounced back to me. It seems to have nothing to do with the file size. any ideas?

bluetooth headphones

I'm considering getting a pair of Sony Bluetooth Wireless Headphones, or another brand, to use for listening to music from my phone. I'd prefer a bluetooth flash mp3 player but I'm not satisfied with what's out there and first want to try my phone.

1. Any glaring problems with pairing to bluetooth headphones I should know about? What works for you?

2. What's the largest micro-sd card this phone supports and what brands are compatible?

8350 Voice Commands

I'm irritated by the " Please say a command" voice prompt, which happens whenever I inadvertently press the soft key on the left side of the phone.

Both Verizon and LG services reps have said there is no way to deactivate the Voice Command feature or any of the soft keys of the 8350. Each company rep says it's the other company's responsibility - the classic runaround to avoid taking responsibility.

Does anyone know how to shut off the annoying voice command 'feature' of this phone?

What does shutting of the EVDO actually do?

If i were to shut this off, what would it do?
I heard it saves battery life, but will it mean i can't send/receive pictures/video?

Design flaw on the 8350?

So I got this phone a couple of days ago and I have to say I love it - options, call clarity, and features are best I've ever had. So I'm looking at the phone today and admiring the design (hey, why not?) and I see this fairly large gap on the top left side of the hinge. It's only visible when the phone is closed, but once you see it it's pretty noticeable. I peeked in there and I can clearly see the top of a circuit board! I think the gap is large enough that potential for dust & dirt buildup in the phone is greatly increased, not to mention God forbid if a single drop of water every accidentally splashes down there. Anyone else who owns this handset have the same problem? It's hard to notice at first because of the angle and the blac...

self-portrait viewfinder

I just upgraded from the VX8100 and it used the external display as a self-portrait viewfinder. The 8350 does not seem to do this. Am I just missing something or is this feature no longer included?

Unusable speakerphone???

I have a new 8350. It is not as good as the 6100 it replaced, but it is OK. Major problem: In the 6100 the speaker was in the lid, not the base. I could hold the phone securely and comfortably in my hand when I was using the speaker. With the 8350, the speaker is in the base. It doesn't seem like an intelligent design. Anyway, if I try to hold the phone securely and comfortably, the speaker is covered up. There is a horrible feedback that makes the speakerphone useless. I have also had complaints that I sound like I am at the end of a tunnel!
I spoke to a person at Verison about this and his solution was to use a headset! Not very helpful or rational. This defeats the purpose of having a speakerphone. Any suggestions?
