Motorola RAZR2 V9m

I have VZW and I am considering switching from the u540 to the V9m.

I would like feedback on the following issues:

1) How visible are inside and outside screens in direct sunlight? Most phones I have had do not do too well. I heard that there was a newer technology at work with the v9m. Any truth to this?

2) Volume - One reviewer said that the v9m volume could be a "tad louder." Any other thoughts on volume? I am in NYC and it is sometimes hard to hear on the noisy streets.

3) Weight - The phone seems a bit heavy though no one has noted it as a problem. Does a little extra weight actually help with the form factor? I always thought the great thing about my old V3 when I had T-Mobile was that it was so sleek and light.

HOW DO YOU REMOVE THE BATTERY???

How do u turn it off so it doesnt vibrate when u scroll through a list?

I just got the v9m for Verizon yesterday. So far I really like it. It is disappointing not to be able to read texts on the front screen because I could on my vx8100.

When I got my phone, the guy at the Verizon store said they cannot transfer my phonebook to my razr 2 because they "do not have the right cable yet." Did anyone else get that response? Thats pretty annoying.

Also, where can I buy a data cable to plug my phone directly into my computer? Thanks.

I just exchanged my v9m for another one and I think they gave me a pre-owned one. Is the "Nam Select" screen under "Phone Settings" supposed to list your phone number as well as 0000007653?

Does anybody know where I can find a plastic holster for the V9m that is faceout and you dont have to take it out to use the phone? You can use it in the holster and flip it up and start talking. Please post and let me know where I can get one. Thanks, Mike.

Anyone think that when this phone (whenever that is) and the prada come out if the Motorola V9M price will go down for Verizon?

I have photos taken with my Motorola E815 that are stored on my memory card. I cannot view the photos on the card when it is inserted in the V9m. I am able to store and view photos taken with the V9m on the same memory card. What should I do to view all the stored photos on the memory card?

Not sure if it's the phone or the VZW UI because I'm coming from such an old phone (LG vx6000), but when you set an appointment on the calendar, it it just supposed to ring and vibrate once, or is it supposed to contionue to ring and vibrate intermittently until you acknowledge it and turn it off (ex. my flipping open the phone). On the vx6000, it would ring/vibrate for a full minute and then every few minutes if I did not shut if off.

Can u read texts on the outside?

Just got this phone and whenever I charge it, the battery indicator blinks...is that right? In my other phone's, when the charger is plugged in, the battery indicator shows bars increasing progressively...also, the first charge didn't seem to end...like...i had it on overnight but the green light was still on...is everything okay?

I am aware that the RAZR2 V9 and V9m can be used as a modem for a laptop. I believe this can be done via Bluetooth or USB, is that right?

Also, what plans are actually necessary to support this functionality? I currently have sprint, so I'm familiar with their Power Vision offerings. Is the Power Vision Ultimate sufficient? What is the AT&T equivalent?

Finally, any knowledgeable sources on the differences between the Sprint and AT&T versions are invited to share their thoughts. Realistically, I'm looking for the most, best functionality that this phone has to offer, for the lowest price.

Now before you think this a 'flame' post; realize I love verzion, CDMA voice quality is awsome, its great; on my V9M I would think people hung up on me because when they didn't talk, it was DEAD silent...

Ohh yea; but the phone would only last 3-4 hours of talk / day, and last ONLY until about 5pm after a full night's charge.

the vibrate was like someone breathing on you, and the stripped down OS just ticked me off beyond beyond belief! the input text would change from txt to internet, etc.

the PHONE is awsome; the hardware is flawless, a thing of beauty... until you turn it on to find the ghetto-arz verizon UI...

SO; what to do do; what to do; I looked at the Verizon PDAs for more functionality.. at $79.99 / month.. not a chance...

When charging the phone, is the front screen supposed to remain on? I can see the screen on even though the backlight is off.

I'm a US Cellular customer with a RAZR right that i'm looking to replace and wondered if anyone knew whether the RAZR2 is capable of syncing with a coporarte email address to send/receive similar to how a blackberry can? Is it possible, I know it can see gmail and yahoo email but coporate email?

I just saw the Sprint V9m and i think it looks better than the verizon one. Looks like higher quality. Imassuming its cause of the color. And the UI is much better
