Video Capture

I don't suppose there's any software that can be added that would make video capture possible on the Curve?

Try This

Try this: Set the trackball sound to Click(Options>Screen/Keyboard>Audible Roll>Click, this is the default anyway), then when a call comes in and your ringtone is playing or ringing, roll the trackball. Does the ringtone turn to static and become garbled?? I have tried two Curves and it happens on both. If I mute the Audible Roll the problem is eliminated, but having that clicking sound can be helpful when navigating the browser. Wondering if anyone else has this problem?

Syncing with Outlook

I am considering the Curve after coming from the Blackjack. One thing that works well with Windows Mobile is Active Sync. It does a great job of syncing my appointments, tasks and contacts. Can I expect the same with the Blackberry Desktop software.

other file formats

Is there a "mobile" version of Office for this phone? It would be awesome to view, edit Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files.

access file system and ebooks

Some quick questions:

1) Can you access files on removable storage (transflash) and then use applications (either added or ones that come with the phone) to view them?

2) Can you read PDF files from the transflash? Is there an app that is included to do this?

3) Concerning #2, is there any security "crippling" that prevents you from accessing and opening the files?

I want to read TXT and PDF (or maybe other formats) on this phone. On my RAZR, I used an app to read text files, but would want the PDF functionality with this phone.

Also, the calendar MUST work both on the syncing and reminders since this is a selling point for me. The phone will be my organizer as well.

Thanks in advance for any answers to my questions and adv...

10mb data plan

Hi I am going to purchase a blackberry curve and I was wondering if the 10mb plan will be sufficient. I will use the internet to only occasionally look at movie times, scores, and a few random websites such as facebook. Also will this data plan be enough if I use the opera mini 4 browser. thank you

Only Rings Once?

I just switched from the Pearl to the Curve and I have the same settings for my phone ringer - Vibrate + Tone. On the Pearl this seemed to work correctly-it would vibrate the number of times I had it set to then ring continuously until answered or VM. On my Curve it will vibrate then ring ONCE then go back to vibrating. Why?

opera browser

I was under the impression, that if i downloaded the browser from opera that it would operate the same way as the iphone, and give me the full version of the internet? is this the case, if so...what is the correct version for the Blackberry Curve. If it is not possible, then it would be pointless to do so

What is OZMAIL on the Curve? Is this automatically generated?

I am new to the Blackberry world. My new curve works well, but I keep receiving e-mail messages, which I think are somehow automatically generated by Blackberry, Yahoo or AT&T. The top of the message says: "OZMAIL."

The "from" on the last message says:
3020:3708/3708.

These messages appear on the Curve, but are not present on my Yahoo Mail.

Is anyone else encountering this? Is there a way I can stop these messages from filling my inbox?

Thanks.

GSWPitt.

phone restarts on its own!??

ok I got the blackberry curve today, I love it except for one MAJOR problem... every time I make or receive a call, or try to go on the internet, the phone just restarts. I was in the middle of a call and it just restarted every time I tried to reconnect. And now every time im on the internet it restarts. after paying 317 bucks for this thing I'm extremely frustrated. has anyone else had this problem??

I tried taking the battery out , no luck.

Give it up...

Really, how good is this phone?? Almost all "professional reviews" I have read has said this is an "good" phone, but lags in reception/call quality (compared to recent new releases) and the camera, which both are important to me. With consumer reviews, I have read amazing things on phone scoop, including how good the camera is and how they are getting great call quality even in the worst of areas, but only mixed reviews on cnet. I have also heard mixed reviews about the quality (i.e. screen breaks after a 3 ft drop and dust underneath the screen) on all sites. So what gives? Why are professional websites like PCmag, cnet, etc saying on thing, but then great reviews on here?

Thanks for any insite....

BB Curve In Black

Hey everyone!

I will agree that the current silver/black Curve is an outstanding color combination.

However, I've been reading that it may be released in solid black as well, which I prefer over current version.

Can anyone provide any insight to this possible color option release?

Thank you! 🙂
