Motorola Q Global / Q9h

Hi,

I just upgraded from a Blackjack with Windows Mobile 5.0 to the Q9h - I would use the Internet Sharing under the Windows directory in WM 5.0. I don't see this in WM 6.0, is this still here under something else?

Any references, websites/blogs, or info you have on this would be appreciated.

Also, do you use Bluetooth to connect to the Windows Mobile Device Center? I've had issues with this - while you are at it, do you use it for the tethering Internet Sharing??

On the pictures for phonescoop of the q9 the icons are small and the background is green. How can i make my ATT one just like that? i dont like the big icons. Thanks!

I picked up a Q9 Global at my local ATT COR store (Atlanta - Roswell actually, Holcomb Bridge road) yesterday. As a former Blackberry 8800 user, I am pretty underwhelmed by this device - but no need to rant here about that part.

The thing that has me ranting here is what I was just told by Motorola support. I called AT&T yesterday because I could not get the integrated GPS working with Google or Live. They were utterly useless, they didn't even have any manuals loaded in their systems. So, they gave me the number for Moto. I called them, equally useless, but they did have uber-support guy give me a call today. The research he did told him that the GPS functions for the AT&T device had been LOCKED for use only with the TeleNAV servic...

How do I turn off the flight mode? I just got the phone, and it's in flight mode, need it off. Thank you. Judy

How good is Telenav? Is it comparable to TomTom or other mobile GPS devices?

I purchased a 2 GB mini SD card from a COR. I was able to format the card, take a picture to transfer to the card and was able to delete the picture after moving it to the card from My Pictures. When selecting the "Storage Card" icon on the Desktop, I receive an error stating that the card cannot be found.

I called AT&T Customer Service and was informed by their technical support that Motorola would provide support. The first call to Moto, I was on hold more than 20 minutes only to get the wrong person who put me on hold for 45 minutes with no answer from Moto Q9 group. I called AT&T and complained. AT&T gave me a $20 credit for my troubles.

I just got this toy and I also have the 8525, I was able to tether on the 8525 using the 'Internet Sharing' icon. how do u tether on this Q9 global. Do I HAVE to subscribe to the new tethering plans on ATT?

I haven't been able to figure out how to assign an mp3 from my SD card as my ringtone on my phone. I have copied a file to my ringtones folder in My Documents and everything. I'm getting nowhere. Has anyone else tried to do this with any luck? Or is the function blocked due to provider request (which I would think is the likely scenario).

I stopped in the AT&T store in Chilicothe, OH today and asked about the rumored price drop. He said the new price sheet wouldn't be out until Sunday night. Not sure what he even knows since he said I was the first one to even be interested in it. I was the first to look at it and he was asking ME questions as I was trying it out!!

I am hoping the price comes down Monday as I have seen on a couple news releases then I might get me one!

Has anyone found an EASY way to toggle the Bluetooth setting on/off? I'd love to re-map one of the keys (AT&T Music), but would settle for another method if possible...

Does anyone know how to make this thing just use Edge? I live in an area where it goes in and out and it is killing my battery.

So I'm considering switching to AT&T.

Will the At&t version ship with BB Connect? I read somewhere that it will be an upgrade but that was months ago.

I've never seen the internet on a pda style phone. What's it like? Better than on my Razr but not as good as an Iphone???? 😳

Here in NYC I found an at&t store. They had it and the price w/out a contract was $499 and $350 w/ one. Now for those who have bought the phone I want to know what they have paid for it. Maybe im paying to much. Pls let me know. Thx

check it out...it's not available when you click on the PDA smartphone link, but when you filter for Motorola and PDA it shows up. I ordered mine this morning to replace by lost BlackJack.

Has anyone been able to get the Q Global in Memphis?

I had the original Q on Verizon and I hated it. Most of the WM devices suffered from typing lag really bad. You could bang out a whole text or email and look up and see the device trying to catch up and even miss some letters. How is the Q9h? Is the keyboard snappy and quick? Does WM actually close programs that are closed?
