Does anyone know if motorola is going to do a elite program similar to what they did with the S9 bluetooth headphones and the KRZR??

I don't think I have come across an email yet from motorola...but any feedback would be appreciated.

What are the must have programs/plug ins?

So my Q gets delivered today. I haven't used a Windows mobile platform in years. I'm wondering what are the must have plug ins / programs for the Q? I at least want something that will stay on the home page and keep me updated on weather.

Video playback small screen & buzzing sound during call

I just got Moto Q yesterday. One thing I noticed is the buzzing sound in the background during phone call. Anybody experiences the same thing ?

Also, the video playback screen is extremely small and quality is not what I expect from a 30 fps device. Can this be improved ?

WCDMA Version?

Under the specs shown here on phonescoop there appears to be a WCDMA version of the Q9h phone available somewhere. (I'm guessing the 'W' stands for 'world'?) Could this phone be made to work on Verizon's network?

No custom ringtones?

On other windows mobile devices you could just copy a mp3 from WMP to the sounds folder, but it doesn't seem to work on the Q. When I look on the support page it only mentions downloading ringtones. Anyone do their own?

File download speeds and Televav

First of all download speeds take FOREVER........... I don't think that My Q Pak will EVER get downloaded. I have a full signal, I don't know what the malfunction is, but it stops about every 3 seconds! Then it has a gateway error and stops.

Telenav was the same way. Once it was FINALLY installed, I am glad it's free for 30 days because I would never pay for that. The gps was still giving me driving directions when I pulled in my driveway??? What's up with that? Also, it's SLOW to find any satellites, if it's really tracking them to start with. Also, while driving along a highway with a clear view of the sky and not obstructions it kept telling me that I had a low gps signal???

I'm not so certain about this thing now....

An...

Push Email Syncing from HOME?

Here are the modes that appear to be supported for push email in Windows Mobile 6 on the Q9h with a data plan:

1. Email direct from a pop3 account.
2. Email from a supported service like gmail, Yahoo Mail, etc.
3. Exchange or Notes corporate server (from work).
4. Microsoft Direct Push server (from work).
5. Activesync - connect via USB

Well, I would think my scenario is common, yet it's not covered? I have my pop3 email on my desktop computer in Microsoft Outlook (which is on 24/7). I would like it to push email to my Q9h wirelessly, not through USB and not some corporate server I don't have. I know Blackberries can do this, so what's up? Am I missing something here?

Q9h and EDGE

Unfortunately, I live in a rural area of KY that does not have 3G and will not have it for another year or more. So, I was wondering how the Q9h does in areas of EDGE coverage only for internet access. Any ideas?

Alarms application?

Hey, does anyone know if theres a way to get the same exact alarms application from the Blackjack over to the Q9h?

The Blackjack had a great alarm app that had daily wake-up alarms AND you can set other alarms for other things without having to change those. The Q9 only has an option to set one alarm at a time so you have to remember to set another one for something else later on which kinda defeats the purpose of an alarm in my opinion.

I would hate to have to set calender reminders for every little thing I do (give my son his daily medicines, clock in and out for breaks etc..) because I dont want all that stuff to show up on my homescreen.

So far this the ONLY thing I prefer the Blackjack over the Q9.

Am I missing something?

Ok, so first of all, I really am not trying to start some religous debate... However, as a former Blackberry 8800 user, I really don't understand the appeal of this device. Perhaps it isn't Q specific, but more Windows Mobile in general. Everything seems to take longer. Everything seems to take 20 clicks. No programs seem to die without an explicit Kill from the Task Manager. Nothing seems intuitive. I just don't get it. Is there some primer somewhere that will teach me the Windows Mobile way of thinking? I have been using Blackberries almost since they came out - the first ones were horrible, but better than anything else really. The most recent ones rock, are intuitive, fast, etc. They just don't support Good email sync, hence m...

Anyone having issues with backgroun noise besides me?

I've had this phone for half a day and when taking a call in Starbuck and another time taking a call with my radio on low in the background, I got complaints from the person on the line saying the background noise was really loud. Anyone else having issues with this or know a fix? I was using just the device, no headsets.

EDGE vs 3G - streaming dilemma

Hi all,
I am very pleased with my Q9 so far, with a few exceptions. Please help me out.

I broadcast an Internet radio station that I frequently listen to. I live in a 3G area and the phone defaults to that. The only problem is that battery life is unacceptably bad when streaming my station using 3G compared to using EDGE. However, when I manually select EDGE, incoming calls do not seem to ring the phone. Callers hear 4 rings and then they go to voice mail. Yet when I surf the net, incoming calls seem to interrupt the data session and the call rings through. Does anyone have any idea why?

One other question...when I am on calls, I seem to hear occassional clicks as if the call is being handed off from one tower to another. Is this ...

Touchscreen, or not to Touchscreen?

I currently have an HP iPaq hw6515 and I've grown quite fond (we're just friends, really) of my touchscreen. It makes text messaging a breeze as I primarly use the on-screen keyboard. I rarely even used the Qwerty keypad.

Since I'm not sure what century HP is gonna release their friggin' Ipaq 610 I'm looking for another PDA device. The Q has got the 3G and integrated GPS which I like, and I don't really need the WiFi support. Does anybody have any problems with texting on the Q's keypad?
