If I purchased this phone, can I use it for Verizon?

Are CDMA phones 'locked' like most GSM phones, or are they universal?

Would purchasing this phone on Ebay or from a sprint store allow me to use it on the Verizon network?

D-pad on the left?

Is it annoying having the d-pad on the left of the phone? I think it is great that the phone opens to the left now it makes the phone much easier to open with your right hand but dose that make it awkward to control navigation with your left thumb? I know that there is an arrow pad on the keyboard but it seamed easier to use with a big d-pad om the phone. But so far that's the only problem I see with the phone

Installing Aim

Will I be able to install the AOL Aim service application on this phone? I would like to be able to use it like the Aim service on a T-Moble SideKick. Rather than have to log on to the Sprint web and use the Aim service they have available there which is for less convenient than using Aim on a SideKick. All feed back will be greatly appreciated. Thanx!

A couple of questions

I'm a northern NJ Verizon customer, and I'm about to take a job in NYC, so I'm thinking about a smartphone for the first time. Verizon tends to cripple their phones, so rather than waiting for their broken version of this, I think I might switch to Sprint, but I had a couple of questions, both about the phone and about Sprint service in this area.

1) Does the GPS on the phone mean that I can install google maps for mobile and have that work for "free" with the cheapest Sprint $15/mo data access plan?

2) Anyone here have any opinions about Sprint voice and data service quality while on New Jersey Transit and in the city? I had Nextel years and years ago, and it was awful in my part of Essex County. I'm hoping the network improved?

MPEG video player problems. Anyone else?

Hey guys, I've been having problems with Pocket TV, Pocket TV Pro and TCPMP. As you guys know we use these apps for MPEG video files.. My problems though are when I'm using TCPMP I am getting PERFECT sound but the video buffer rate is reall bad if not totally skippish... And with the Pocket TV programs *Both standard and Pro* I am getting PERFECT video rate but NO sound..... Am I the only schmuck that is having these problems?

over in the "Preview: HTC Mogul" discussion:

Camera Sucks

The camera on my Mogul sucks. I spent the weekend comparing the pictures to the pictures taken by a 700 WX. The 700 WX has a much clearer picture. Actually my previous Samsung phone has a better picture. I tried adjusting nearly every thing on the camera and even turning on the flash.

Is it just me? Anyone else got this problem.

Can't sync to my Toshiba laptop with XP

I have had this phone for a week now. I want to like it....great reception, decent speed on EVDO, I JUST CAN'T GET IT TO F'N SYNC! I have been working with SPRINT several hours a day with no luck. I have been resetting it so often I can't make myself enter contacts or use as a PDA 'cause I know they will get erased every day (same for music). I get the following error messages
0x80072EDF
0x80072EFF
and I think I even got 0x80072ESF.
Anybody got any ideas????

Important Notice on Charging the 6800

Charging the Mogul

DO NO USE RIM OR MOTOROLA CHARGERS TO CHARGE THE 6800…

Rim and Motorola use a different OHM and Amperage, which will result in a burnt out battery. This battery burnout will result in decreased life span of the battery and the batteries inability to hold a charge. Using the wrong charger will result in the battery not being covered under the warranty.
