Actually the iphone was offered to TracFone first...

😳
Ever notice how whenever a new phone comes out for at&t some VZW guy is knocking it down by saying something like "well, we could have had that first but it sucks and we rock so there"
🤣

couple of facts:

1) iphone is NOT a pda. Apple doesn't want to compete with Windows or Palm they want to carve out their own market MUCH as they did with ipod. All these pda and BB guys are calling it out when apple/at&t isn't even interested in selling it to THOSE guys.
Listen, at&t sells more blackberrys than any other US carrier, they have a hugely successful windows line... at&t is still going to sell these products! The iphone is an ENTERTAINMENT device for people who want more functionality without having to carry around a brick and...

Downloading From The Safari Browser?

I was just wondering...Will you be able to download files(mp3's,video's,etc...) from the safari browser itself on the iphone? I'm able to do this on my ppc 6700's IE browser, and i find mp3's, video's, and midi ringtones that way. Thanks.

Why not wait?

If you can try to remember back to the first Ipod. It was a revolutionary product. But now look at how far it has come. They have color video pictures games and much much more. The iphone sounds and looks to be a great product yet missing many key features. No video recording? No voice memo? Only touch screen? No 3G? Battery switches at last minute? A youtube app? No memory card slot? No flash? This is all in the works already for the second version without even the release of the 1st. For me it will be hard to see everyone else with the iphone but I think I can hold off for a bit save my $500 bucks and wait for the second edition I mean after all look how far the Ipod came along. To sum it up Apple is making its first debut in the cell worl...

Texting?

Has anybody wondered how it would be to text on a flat surface?

Companies spend a lot of time researching what feels best to the fingers. How the keys respond and click when you press them. Even that little nub on the "5" key is a place finder. Like the "F" and "J" keys on your keyboard. The iPhone will be completely flat.

How do people feel about that? I know when I'm driving and dialing or texting I barley look at my phone. I find the 5 key and start texting. Will this be possible on the iPhone? Am I the only person that this concerns?

Treo or iphone?

I'm in the market for a new phone, my contract with zerizon is up and i'm wondering do i stay with them and get a treo which seems to do everything the iphone promises or do i go with the iphone which definitely has a certain 'cool factor' to it? Also money isn't really a factor for me, functionality and network speed and coverage is from more important to me. 🙂

Will Be Tough For Others To Catch Up.

The haters are going crazy on this forum w/ those comments.I can understand their situation but have no pity for them whatsoever. 😁
Anyway,it's gonna be a long time before we see a manufacturer come out with something leveling or surpassing the Iphone besides something w/ 3G.
Back in January,Apple said they have over 200 Patents on the Iphone.
So it became much harder for other companies to use and have the same features that are on the Iphone. No wonder,HTC tried to come close with the Touch but failed to make an impact. 😡

Glorified IPOD

Let me just say first that this phone does look pretty cool and the touch screen on it is revolutionary, however this Phone as cool as it looks is just that-it looks cool. First off, do you want to do anything Internet related on that phone, i think not--the network it's running on is so slow it does not do this phone justice. ALSO--there have been PDA's that have tried internal batteries--and theres a reason they don't do that anymore!-They stink!! what are you going to do when your in a contract and this phone does not hold a charge in a year--better get the insurance i guess! Also what happens if something goes wrong with the touch screen on this phone-what else have you got to use it with. you had better be real careful to not drop i...

iPhone/iTunes Question

Will the purchased music from an already established iPod/iTunes account be transferred to the iPhone for no additional cost or... will the iPhone user have to re-purchase songs from iTunes to download to the iPhone (pay twice for same songs)?

IPhone Questions

Not sure if anyone has the answers to these questions but will give it a shot

I just purchased the Curve last week and love it so far but may want to consider switching to the IPhone. Does anyone know if I would be able to do any exchange for this phone since its only been a week since I purchased the Blackberry Curve?

Also does anyone know if the IPhone will support multiple email accounts. Meaning will I be able to send email from particular email accounts I have like the Blackberry allows?

battery!!!!

LOOK WHY DONT WE JUST SAY WHAT WE MEAN! buy an extra house charger, get a car charger for each car and then maybe you will be able to have a phone and mp3 player. heres the thing though--batteries have a limited amount of cycles before they go bad and your getting only about a half hour to an hour talk time. now what really uses these cycles is plugging in yourphone and if you have to plug it in more you may need to buy a new battery sooner, but if this has an internal battery--uhoh result is not soo good for the consumer. what will they do --replace it, maybe if you have insurance, but them you will get one of those refurbed models im sure that are refurbished cuz they were returned or were broke and now you have the fixed!?! version. i don...

The stunning new iPhone is a winner out of the gate !!!!

I am going to write a short summary of my impression of Apple's new iPhone.

The product is groundbreaking in every respect. Its got OS X operating system which is rock solid-there will be no reboots of freezes!

The included software is superb and the way the phone operates is simply unmatched by any other cell phone ever made!

Remember, this is the first iPhone and in 6 months you can expect an upgraded iPhone along with more power and features.

A lower cost model will follow.

Folks, Nokia, Samsung and Motorola will all be watching not each other but Apple because this is a turning point in the industry.

My only downside is I am not a fan of ATT-Yuk! 🙂

Voice dial ?

So am I getting this right? No Voice dial? Seems strange since most cell phones are used in cars. Seems like it could be hard to use with one hand while driving.

Look at the sheep, all following the leader.

As many of you OBVIOUSLY know, this "innovative" phone will be available for gouge, i mean sale pretty soon here.

A few questions I have for those 'waiting in line' to buy it:

1. How does donating 300-ish dollars to a multi-billion dollar company feel when you are probably one of the 90% of people in debt?

2. Why are you going to pay three times as much for an Ipod that has a phone in it when, gasp, you wait a fwe more months and you will be able to buy phones that support SD-HC cards that'll far exceed the 4 or 8 GIG cap these phones have.

3. Do you really expect apple isn't going to find some way to nickle and dime you for the music you put on here? Be it 'music essentials pack' or something of the like, or a HUGE increase in ...
