Editing Pictures

After taking a picture with my 8700, I tried editing the image using the Edit feature. I used the Zoom feature and then the Crop feature. When I went to save the new, edited image - it sat there for a few seconds, then finally saved. But the picture never saved and instead was a strange looking icon. Does anyone know why this is happening?

When i take my pictures, the resolution is set to 1600 x 1200 (highest).

Can anyone help?

ear piece sound

Just got the vx8700 much faster than the moto krazr. Question, is it normal not to hear yourself when talking(all other phones do). The people on the other end hear and sound fine. I just can't hear myself talk. You know if you blow into the mic you hear it through the ear piece. On mine does not do this. Thanks

Obviously the 8600 is a better phone

I was worried after I got my 8600 and heard about the 8700 but now I am happy I did not waste my time waiting.

My sounds

When I go to my sounds there are some sounds listed. What can I do with those sounds? Can I use them as ringtones, or txt message alerts? I can't seem to do anything with them, but play or erase. Thanks

Sending pictures to my pc via bluetooth?

Hello,

I read that Verizon did not cripple the bluetooth in the 8700, but when I try and send a picture via bluetooth it says "image transfer not supported".

Any advice?

Bluetooth Issues

Starting to get the same s**t with this as the 8100. Randomly disconnects from headset. Using the LG HBM-730 & Jawbone. Fine up till about a week ago. Got the usual BS form LG & VZW. Really need to get away from VZW for good. They SUCK. ATT isn't much better.
If you get an unlocked phone, how do you get it to work?

Reception during Freeway Driving

Has anyone experienced choppy reception while driving on freeways, i.e. at speeds of 65 mph or greater? I've been told that my words and sentences are broken up and often have to repeat things I say. I'm just wondering if it's my particular phone or all VX8700s.

Has anyone seen a Extended Battery & Stainless Steel Cover or anything else for sale yet?

These things get hard to come by with the passage of time and after market stuff is never as good as the OEM items. Another thing that concerns me is the heavily relied upon charging/data/headphone "all in one port." Do you think this will wear out?

Who needs EVDO?

If I do not use the teeny broswser to surf the limited sites..and since dropped mobile 2.0 do I need EVDO? It is a battery drain and can be disabled.

Maybe for the GPS Nav system as I do use that?

Delete Sounds?

How do you delete sounds/ringtones from this phone? I could do it on my VX-8000, but can't on this one so far.

VM or TXT Message Indicator on Outer Screen?

Hello, I'm new to the forum...hopefully someone can offer some advice/clarity.

I was wondering if you could set up the 8700 so that when there is an unopened voicemail or txt message, there is an icon that appears on the front screen (along with the time, date, battery power, # of bars, etc.). I only see an icon when i open up my phone and its on the lower left with either a small envelope (txt) or person (voicemail)...

Does anyone know if this can be done thru the main menu options or thru the ##PROGRAM8700 method?

Thanks.

Service Menu

OK, guys. How do you get to the service menu. I want to keep my front screen on always. After 'send', I get a screen with ?????? & OK. Pressing OK brings me back to the screen with ##PROGRAM8700. How do I get to the menu from here?

Open phone
Dial ##PROGRAM8700
Press send
Field Test
Power Save Mode
Off
Ok

Any way to keep front display always on?

Hello,

I just started using my new VX8700 today, and what I've noticed so far is excellent sound quality and reception, beautiful high resolution interior screen, and wonderful camera quality. So far, the only thing that I don't like about the phone is that there doesn't appear to be a way to force the front screen to stay on. The only setting that I found will keep the front screen on for at most 30 seconds. My old phone (a VX 6100) was nice because the front display would always be on, but the backlight would turn off after a specified amount of time. I like the display to be on because then I can just glance at my phone for the time, or to see if I've missed a call, etc. Now I have to hit a button to turn the front screen on. Not...
