Way overdue

This new nokia looks promising...But it makes me wonder. Aside from my 6230, Cingular hasnt offered anything Nokia since the newer E62. Which makes me leary on waiting for this N75. I have a feeling they wont release it. There isnt anything else on the market I really like.

Waiting Patiently...

Are we still getting this phone? I'm still saving all of my gift cards from Christmas for this. Now that we've mentioned the name change to at&t, I'm getting more excited, but am still doubting. Anybody heard of anything concrete?

iphone or N75?

I love nokia and have been waiting for this phone. I was wondereing how many people will suggest waiting for the iphone or get this phone and wait till the second version of the iphone because their will more than likely be problems and limitations with iphone when it is released.

buy the sync instead!!!

The Sync Is an excellent phone!!! Not as 'pretty' as some but has everything you want. Want I used to hack in my V3 you can do through the menus in the sync. The Sync Rocks. I just recently switched to Sprint because of employee price on plans and have the M610. It is n't half as good as the sync and cost $130 more. Buy the sync and forget the damn n75!!!!!!!!

Video specs?

What are the video specs for this phone?
Will it play full screen 320x240 video?
What is the max frame/sec rate?

I just found out the 6131 will not do full screen with the built in player, and I can not find a media player that runs on 40os.

thanks Kevin

Nokia site shows phone as out of stock.

On Nokia's site they have option to buy the n 75 but show it as being out of stock. It used to just say coming soon. I think we are getting close now.

a nokia rep in my store yesterday said the phone should be available for cingular early Feb. she had one with her and the phone is really good. it has all the features you can ask for and the menu design is completely different then the previous nokia models. and i was able to get the IMEI from her phone.

Nokia is being kicked around

I've spoken to a Nokia rep from europe vacationing here and he basically told me that until the us carriers, especially cingular pulls back on their branding they will not pursue this market..they are king in europe, don't really need the USA and most americans don't make use of nokia's features for the most part anyway. Americans still hardly know how to text..just ask a few "avg" people. The carriers here make it too easy to call with so many free mins..free mobile to mobile..favorite numbers..etc...In Europe it's the complete opposite: mins are expensive and text is cheap-they also don't charge for incoming msgs. The only player that has a chance with branding Nokia's phones will be T-Mobile-especially with their presence already in Eur...

No offense but...

I don't find this phone all that attractive, and it doesn't run on HSDPA, i don't see why cingular would even release a UMTS phone(and please don't say because of price for all the HSDPA models vs UMTS have either been the same price or less) I love nokia OS but they need to come out with some better designs and more creative features on there phone. Cingular comes dead last in the innovatice features in there phones. Once again though don't get me wrong I love Cingular as a service but just being realistic. I think i'll wait till Sony Ericsson comes out with there first 3G Handset all though there flips phones aren' attractive, there sliders are really nice.

From Cingular

I had asked as to whether the w810i was still available since the cingular website no longer shows it. I also asked if the N75 was coming out soon. Here is what their email said.

"Thank you for taking the time to e-mail Cingular Wireless regarding the Sony W810i and the Nokia N75. I am happy to help you with your inquiry.

We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. The Sony W810i is still in stock as it can be purchased at a store location or by contacting our sales department at 866-246-4852.

All of our phones go through over 400 hours of testing to ensure the best quality in equipment for our customers. If the phone meets our rigorous quality guidelines, it will be approved for our Allover Network. At this time, we hav...
