Pixplace? number@vzw.com?

With some Verizon phones, I know that it is possible to send yourself mp3's that you can set as a ringtone. Does this phone have access to pixplace, or does it get it's number@vzw.com? Or is it impossible to send yourself ringtones on this phone?

How to send Text, Pics, Ring Tones to this phone.

Yes you can send ring tones. I have done it many times with this phone and the Smooth.

You do not use the same email string as when sending a text. You use the format like when sending photos.

If you are on Verizon Network use
This format to send Text only: 0000000000@vtext.com " Zero's would be the number you are sending to!"

When sending photos, ring tomes or sound send to this address string: 0000000000@vzwpics.com. " Zero's would be the number you are sending to!"

Now when sending a ring tone or sound you send just like a photo just where you are to add a photo skip that and go down to add sound. Send as sound and then when the Verizon number you are sending to gets it save that sound as either a ring tome or sound.

If y...

Diminishing Picture Memory

I took a lot of pictures with this camera and immediately found out that the number of pictures that I am allowed to take diminishes over 2 years. Now I can only take 3 pictures. Why? I went to the Alltel store and they could not flash it. What are my options?

How's the dual-mode Reception?

Howdy...

Any feedback on the signal strength/reception on this phone? Looks like it's one of the few remaining dual-mode (CDMA+analog) phones from Verizon. Any problems turning off the analog roaming when not needed?

We like Verizon's network coverage, especially when traveling, and some places still only have analog coverage... but with all the extra software Verizon requires on their phones to support the pay-as-you-go functionality, it tends to bog down the high end features... If we were in it for the 3G features, we'd go GSM... We just want a phone with good Tx/Rx & battery.

Thanks in advance for your time,

NL

disable camera when phone is closed?

I just bought this phone today (my first camera-phone). After an hour or two I had a bunch of pictures of the inside of my pocket. I've read TFM but it doesn't offer any insights here. I would like to disable the camera button when the phone is closed (when am I going to want to take a picture without using the view-finder anyway?). Any ideas on how to achieve this?

Locking the entire phone would be overkill; I still need to be able to use it conveniently as a phone, after all.

Adding words to T9 dictionary???

Is this possible? With my old LG phones I was able to add words by typing it in ABC mode then changing to T9 and pressing 0 at the end of the word to save it. I do that now and it does not work.

Advise anyone?

Interesting Move for Samsung

Just got this phone in this morning and have been checking it out. I'd say its pretty cool for an entry level phone (I assume that's what it is?), definately better than any other entry levels out right now.

From my short time with it I'd say the pros are:
Size, just right, not huge but not tiny either.

Buttons are easy to use and well placed on the keypad. I always have a problem fatfingering, but not with this

Trimode Camera phone

Cons:
Not the prettiest phone in the world, but better than any other entry level. Looks alot like the nicer 870

Weird Menu, although some may think this is a pro

NOT Get it Now phone, so no new ringtones, walpapers or anything. strange

We give the 870's away where I work so I'm not sure w...
