Samsung SCH-U740 Alias

I bought the LG HBS-110 Bluetooth Stereo Headset from the Verizon store to pair with my u740 (which I LOVE.) They assured me I would be able to listen to my music and answer calls all from this device. However, I can't get the stereo option to sync. I can make and receive calls, but my music will still only play through the phone's speakers. Anyone know how to fix this?

Verizon told me there is a patch coming for the u740 that will allow stereo headset usage. They could not tell me exactly when they would have it available, but they have news releases internally about it. Anyone else know more about it?

Yea, I ask this on all the phones I'm thinking about getting, but, does this phone have a list or picture/icon menu?

I seriously loathe picture/icon menus and much prefer list. I've looked all around but can't seem to find anything that tells me, so, help?

Has anyone successfully sync'ed their calendar or contacts info with outlook? is it possible. this really determines it for me. i need a calendar. please help!!!

I truly love this phone, I really do, but when it comes time to use the bluetooth feature... I CRINGE!! I'm on my second phone, and third headset (all of which work fine with my Razr). When I bond ANY of the earpieces (two are Motorola, and the new one is a Samsung.. I thought a proprietary headset would help). The bluetooth connection is crackly, static. I've posted twice here before to see if anyone else has a similar problem, but no one has responded.. HELP!

first of all, i got my black u740 yesterday and i love it! some of my favorite features is asnwering calls without opeing the phone as well as reading texts with the phone closed. and teh speakers are great!
i just wanted to ask if anyone knows if the video wallpaper feature drains a lot of your battery? it seems like it would and i dont want to use it if it does. thanks so much! 😁

I was wondering if anyone knows how to turn off, or change the size limit on text message inbox. It’s telling me my inbox is full when I still have about 40mb left on my phone, is there anyway to allocate more memory to the text message inbox?

Hi everyone... I was hoping someone could give me some advice. I just got this phone today and I tried to pair it up with my Motorola HS801 bluetooth headset a bunch of times, but the phone will not find the headset. The headset says that it will work with all bluetooth devices, but that seems false. Could anyone help me please?? Thanks in advance!

I'm thinking about getting the u740. I have had the Razr for awhile now and I am very unhappy with it. This is my third one and they don't last. I have been looking and researching the u740 for quite awhile now and I want to know if I should get it or not.
I text quite a bit so the keyboard is a plus and I personally think i could get used to the buttons quite fast. But I always read all these reviews and people complain about how they do not like how some programs can be used only one way. Can you really get used to it or not? I read them and there are so many people saying they have had to take there phones back because of glitches in the phone. Are they just not reliable?

Wow is the resolution horrible. Mobile web looks like garbage!!!!! WOW i wonder if they will fix this.....i also hate the fact that you can only acces mobile web one way.

I still think the vx8300 LG is the best all around...over this and the vx8600 and the new vx8700

can someone pls compare the internet usage on the samsung to that of a blackberry....on my blackberry i visit such sites as espn, imdb, gmail, google, yellow pages etc with pretty much full use, is this somehting i can expect with the samsung...also is there a mini usb jack on this phone...i really love when i can use one charger for everything

I just got this phone and I;m having trouble trying to figure out how to do the ringtone trick. I used mp3 cutter to cut a segment of the song, and then renamed the file extension to MID format in My_Sounds, but nothing will show up on the phone. What gives? Is it suppose to be in another format?

I also tried to send a file from My sounds (a default sound) and I tried to save it under my ringtones but it wouldnt let me save it anywhere. I am confused about the whole ringtone situation. Is the only way to get a ringtone to pay? Because I was able to do the trick on my old motorola but not luck with this yet

i was playing around with this phone earlier today at my verizon store, and i noticed a side button on the phone that said "hold". what purpose does this button serve?

I was at the Verizon store the other day, and I asked one of the associates about using my own .mp3s as ringtones. Since Verizion has a strict policy about copyright laws, he mentioned that I go to phonescoop to get my answers. He also mentioned that there was a program that will allow me to use the USB cable that came with the music essentials kit, and that could cut the song I wanted in anyway as a ring tone, but he couldn't tell me what it was either. I currently use Audacity to cut the song the way I wanted and used a friends LG VX9400 to send the file to myself. Does anyone know that program he spoke of? Please let me know.
