Getting Charged for Internet Data Usage on Tmobile Dash ???

i recently signed up with a Dash today and i only signed up with just a phone service plan WITHOUT any unlimited data internet plan option. lets say if i try surfing the internet with my dash, then will tmobile automatically charge me with any data fees like cingular chargers 10 cents to kilobyte without my authorization?? im trying not to pay for any internet fees since i am relying on the internal wifi.

EDGE Costs

I got the Dash a few months ago. I have been able to connect to either EDGE or GPRS to send and receive email as well as to browse the web (not WiFi).

I never asked Tmobile to give me any sort of data plan, (since my university has wireless almost everywhere and I have a wireless network in my apartment, I have no use for a data plan).

Additionally, I have not yet been charged any extra amount for any usage of these services.

Does anyone know what may be going on here? Did Tmobile just mess something up?

If this question has already been asked, sorry, I have been searching forums for a while

Internet browser times out!

I just got my Dash yesterday and I ave a question that I hope someone can help me with.

when i am using wi-fi at my home the browser seems to time out and return me to my home screen if I do not hit any buttons for about ten seconds. It does this when I am in other applications as well. Any suggestions?

How to change the systems fonts settings?

I installed a program on the phone that has changed the fonts which I am not too happy with. I looked every where withing the phone the option to change it but no luck. Any help...

Also, even though I have uninstalled the program, the font wont change and I keep getting the Notification Error.

Everything otherwise is great, I am loving the phone.

Thanks in advance.

I would like to save it on my computer or print it, but the phone doesn't have any options. Or if someone can tell me which folder the text messages is saved on the phone?

Very Dissapointed in WM 5.0 for Smartphones

I just got the DASH yesterday and I can't beleive how little it can do, and it's all because of the OS! Why didn't Tmobile/HTC give this phone the Pocket PC version?? Other than the start button, there's almost nothing windows about it.

This phone could have been much better. Is there a way to get Windows Mobile for PocketPC's put on my phone??

This thing is Garbage

Is it just me but is the dash a cool looking phone that basically doesnt perform well. I hate this phone. SLOW, No cool applications or Games.

Wifi at $30 a month LOL thats a joke, unless your somewhenre with free wifi whats the point.

I hate this thing, and i just bought the new SLVR L7E....wow is it much better in every way..camera, battery life, even texting is easier on the slvr.and i can load real JAVA games....not that garbage that the dash handles...

Take away the media player ability the stinks in every way.

Where are the LCD screens made?

😢

I broke my Dash while moving some heavy gear around with it in my front pocket. A corner of a metal box slammed the front and now I have a big black nothingness over the top 1/4 of my screen. The rest of the screen is fading out as well. I know this would be an easy torx screwdriver fix if only I had a new screen. HTC doesn't sell them direct and the repair service charges are outrageous, costing as much as the phone with a 2 year contract. Any ideas on where I can buy the screen (or one that would work)?

Thanks in advance for anyone who can help.

Any service manual pdf's?

I'm trying to repair my screen and got a torx tool to open it up, but now I can't figure out how to take it apart. Does anyone have pics or a video of someone cracking yours open?

Dash or Sidekick 3?

Hi, right now I have the BB Pearl. I love the phone but I can't surf ebay to see what I am selling. My old SK2 would go on ebay. Does the dash support the program to go on ebay? Or should I get the SK3 ? Any suggestions would be great! Thanks 🙂

Wi Fi question...

Ok, this may sound like an stupid question to those of you familiar with the newer tech out there now. I am unfamiliar with how the wi-fi works. I currently use a sony p910i with tzones for my email/net access. I am strongly considering the dash for the wifi access IF I would be able to use the wifi feature to access the phones internet/email capabilities (granted on an open network) w/o the need for the upgraded internet plan (when they correct the tzones proxy hack and I do not want to upgrade to the full service plan)and w/o data charges as long as I'm not using the edge/gprs. Am I correct in thinking this would be the case?

Dont Bother get the Nokia e50

Worthless only because windows mobile is on it.....Wifi is nice but only reliable in your home unless you pay for the WIFI from Tmobile.

I had the DASH...there is NO GOOD Software for it. No GAMES what so ever...unless you count a Tetris Clone i found ...oh and pacman....

I got the Nokia E50 instead....way better and can do much more!!!!!! So much free software online in the forums...its like a super computer
