Sony Ericsson Updates Phone Lineup

Sony Ericsson today announced several new GSM phones, covering a full range from mainstream to advanced:

  • S710a: Updated version of S700 high-end swivel-style model, adding GSM 850 and EDGE high-speed data. Key features include megapixel camera, large QVGA display, and memory card slot. Available Q4 in the Americas.
  • P910: Updated version of P900 smartphone with Symbian-based UIQ OS. Upgrades include a new integrated QWERTY mini-keyboard, memory increased to 64 MB, and an improved display, supporting 262,000 colors. Available globally in Q3, including P910a variant with GSM 850 for the Americas.
  • K500i: Bar-style tri-band model with TFT display, VGA camera with lens cover and video recording, Java 2.0 with 3D, 12 MB of memory, class 10 GPRS, and infrared. Available for Europe and Asia in the 3rd quarter.
The company also announced the Z500i, an international version of the Z500a clamshell EDGE phone already announced for the Americas.
