How do I Unlock a V600?

Vexille

What is the best method to unlock a new V600?

I have seen a number of websites offering to generate unlock codes.

Are any of these reliable?

Is there a risk in giving out the information this way?

Finally, after receiving this code, what is the process to actually unlock the phone?

Thanks in advance!

There used to be several websites offering unlock (subsidy) codes based on the IMEI number of the phone. This was achieved by having someone that worked at Motorola with access to their DB. It seems that Motorola has now cracked down on this type of activity and the only way at the moment to obtain the proper subsidy code for your phone is to:

1. Contact your wireless carrier and ask them for it. T-Mobile will email them to you after being a customer in good standing for at least 90 days. Some carriers require you to pay, and some will not give them out at all, e.g. AT&T Wireless.

2. Bring it into a local phone shop (or you can mail it in) that unlocks your particular phone with a hardware/software device aka "Clip"

3. Download a sm...

if it's from Cingular it's already unlocked. If it's from ATT it may need a sublock code. Usually they wont' release the sublock codes unless you've completed your contract agreement. I'd be a little wary of any websites or companies that claim to be able to unlock your phone for you. If it doesn't cause any more problems it'll void the warranty.

But like I said, if you've got Cingular you're already in the clear.

You can easily find out whether your phone is unlocked or not by inserting a sim from another mobile network. If this works then your in business otherwise your phone will display a message along the lines of 'enter subsidy password'. As is said in one of the other replies to your query IMEI unlocking (i.e. unlocking by using your own specific unlock code based on your IMEI number) is unavailable at the moment and it is unknown when this is gonna come back (if at all).

Thus, I suggest that unless you want to send off your phone to some guy you don't know, that you use software that can be downloaded from a site such as
http://www.cell-unlock.com » and is very reliable. But don't take my word for it you can check out the support forum...

If you want to unlock Motorola V600 mobile phone from the network lock,I would suggest you to get an unlock code from
http://www.superunlockcodes.com/motorola-v600/rs5wp9/ » at reasonable price and unlock it using the unlocking instructions given for your mobile phone from that site itself.
