Motorola and Verizon

Mar 24, 2013, 2:37 AM
Anyone wonder why Motorola has been exclusive to Verizon as of the past 18 months or so? Sure they make one or two phones for a couple of other carriers, but pretty much 95% of their phones go exclusively to Verizon.

Not sure why Google/Moto would want to limit their distribution channel to only one carrier. I would have figured they would focus more on AT&T and T-Mo making GSM phones since they could sell them to the rest of the world easier, but it's not the case. I would think they would want to get Moto to all the major carriers since that would be more sales for them.

I haven't figured out any good reason why Google would be working exclusively with Verizon, but I'm thinking Motorola was better off before Google took them over ...
