LG= Defective

SmartSprint

Sep 4, 2006, 4:33 PM
As a dealer, I try to give every phone manufacturer an equal shot at my approval.

I will sell the phone just knowing that it will work. Then the ones that come back, because they dont work, get on my bad list.

Why would I want to sell a customer a phone I know will just be defective? They will just bring it back, or cancel service all together.

I have noticed that no manufacturer is perfect. I also have seen certain phones which have more problems than others.

LG, by far, has had the most problems. Reception is lame, the phones do undesireable things. Just the quality overall is poor.

At first I thought maybe LG phones just were not compatible with Sprint, but I have Verizon customers coming in all the time wanting to switch j...

my last 7 lg's have been excellant. Don't now if you are getting people in with low end phones like the 3200 or older models like the 3100 but by far they are the leaste problematic manufacturer for Verizon. I have less lg's returned than any other manufacturer. Motorola's middle and low end models are the worste.

i dunno where you got those LG phones from probably a bootlegged ones... haha i'm also a dealer too and i have completely different opinion about LG... i think samsung, and lg is the most reliable phones and Motorola is the worst one out there... i have the most defective units with motorola and so as other dealers around my store... they all have at least 10 defective units just lying around so i think you are on something else that's what... LG = RELIABLE

I don't know. A few months ago at Cingular we only had two LG's and both were pretty lame (the c1500 and c2000). They were both cheap and I had a lot of returns, especially on the 1500. Like you, I steered customers toward the others. I was a Nokia man, all the way. But recently we've gotten the CG225 and CU500. The 225 is mediocre, but I haven't had a lot of returns. And I actually use the 500 myself. A couple of things bug me on it, but it gets decent reception and works well.

I think it may vary from carrier to carrier, I personally have had a vx10, 3200, 4400, 4500, 6100, 8100 (on verizon) and have had good luck with them, I even dropped my 8100 in the lake (sinks like a rock!) I dove to the bottom and got it, took that battery out, and dried it out. a new battery later and its still going strong! As you can see I've had phones from the cheap to the high-end and have always had good consistent luck. On the other had I've had two moto's (120 and 276) and they didn't last 6 months. I guess it alls comes down to Chevy or Ford?

I would disagree with Motorola as the most defective, but there for a while they were a close second to our absolute most defective brand, Kyocera. Since they did away with that two pronged charging port, we haven't had any problems with them. Well, outside of people causing trouble with people drilling holes in the battery cover to get to the antenna port.

I can only say that the 4400 that I had two years ago, stood up to your claim. My 4400 fell out of my pocket when I was on my motorcycle doing 65 MPH. The phone worked like new even after that.

Well not only do you sell Sprint phones I am guessing but you must not have been selling for long. Also, you are better off selling higher end phones. Not phones that are $50 or less. I have to say that even the lown end LG phones on Verizon are decent phones in comparison to $100 phones on Sprint.

I don't know about these claims???? I got into a 105 degree jacuzzi... sat for almost five minutes and the phone starts to vibrate... I had a damn call! Can you believe it?? I dried the battery and the phone for a couple of days... (the screen looked like a mini aquarium at one point). It is still kickin'!!!! It's the old LG VX-6100. I've put this phone through hell and it still working!!!!! You got a bad batch.

Hmm I love LG phones, Iv had many other phones and they all basically sucked. I moved to Lg and my first one was the 4400 and than i had the 6100 and now the 8100, and soon going to upgrade to even a newer one. Iv neverr had any problems with these phones and love LG. Its what I recommend to all of my customers and we never have returns on the Lgs. In the Lgs even give a stronger signal.

as a technician for solectron i work in the verizon stores replacing phones, and the best quality i see are the lg phones and the samsung phones, motorola phones come in the most and audiovox is right behind it, and behind that believe it or not is nokia. so i would have to disagree with lg being the most defective i know because i replace the phones for a living
