Kyocera data cable used with older models

Has anyone used Kyocera data cables to send and/or receive data by connecting to some of the older Kyocera models such as the 2035a, 2235 and/or 2255?

Those phones don't have much memory capacity (like 200 or less contact list) so data cables and the ability to interact with them may be beyond their capability. Who knows. I just know that we were told a few years ago that connecting to a data cable would invalidate the warranty, so there has to be some kind of chance that you will mess up your phone if you do it.
