Please recommend software

I just purchased the Sanyo MM-5600 but I am new to cell phones. I would appreciate some advice on software. I am interested in two things: managing my phone (entering, editing and backing up telephone numbers and other information between my phone and XP PC) and creating my own ringtones, backgrounds and screensavers. First, assuming money is no object, what are the very best software products out there to accomplish these tasks? Second, what are the *low cost* alternatives to the industry standard products. Thanks for your advice.

Sanyo 7400 and 5600

Does anyone have any information including pictures and full specs on the new Sanyo 7400 and Sanyo 5600. The 7400 is the successor to the 7300 and the 5600 is the successor to the 5500/VM4500? Thank you. 🙂

rl 4920 switching from sprint to automatic

☹️
The Sanyo RL 4920 automatically switches modes from Sprint to Automatic. I am not saying it switches from Sprint to roaming while set on Automatic. I am saying that it switches from Sprint Only Mode to Automatic Mode. I had a unit for about a month and it kept doing it. Finally they let me swap out units saying my unit was likely defective so I got a new unit of the same model and it did the EXACT SAME THING.

I am having a hard time communicating with both Sprint and Sanyo about it. It seems they don't want to hear about it.

Please be aware of this problem and also please WATCH FOR IT. If anyone else has this problem please keep us posted and PLEASE REPORT IT -- to your local store, to Sanyo, to Sprint, etc.

release of sanyo 7400 and 5600

alot of speculation on the dates. ive heard 7400 sept/oct and 5600 nov/dec. also heard the date pushed back due to probs with the 5600 or something of the like. bellow is a pdf file that is a sprint rebate showing the 7400 and 5600 as being eligible for rebates. the rebate ends before dec. either its a typo or those phones should be out at the latest by early nov. just something i found and thought i would pass it on, laterZ

Sanyo 8200 on Verizon service?

Can anyone help me figure out how to get a Sanyo 8200 working on Verizon? From everything I've been reading, it sounds like it's really possible.

I haven't bought the phone yet -- I'm trying to find a cheap used one to start with, and I'm trying to get some information on how to go about this in the meantime.

I know that I need an MSL. Once I have that, what do I need to do? I realise that I need to program the phone with Verizon information, I would need to active the ESN on my account (is that even going to work?), and I need to load Verizon's PRL onto the phone. But I don't really know / understand the specifics.

If anyone has done this, or if they have ANY information, I'd appreciate it!

Sanyo 6200

Yes mine always got warm after 20 minutes or so, but the biggest problem I had with the phone was I was never ever able to download ringers or background screens. Had 1st 6200 for 10 days got new one had same excact problem got rid of wireless web because of that problem. The phone has been perfect other than download probs. Sprint is giving me a 6400 because of download issue. Anyone had both 6200,6400 and which did you like better. 🙄

8200 ringers

Is there a way to make ringers?
I have downloaded some midi files using BITPIM software and a USB-sync cable, but the volume of the ring is very low.
Any ideas? Thanks

Sanyo to Verizon-Help Please

I have had a cell phone for quite a long time. I have had Sprint and Verizon and like them both. I have also worked for both but it has been a while ago. I currently have Verizon because of there coverage. However like most others out there apparently I am not a huge fan of Verizon’s phones. I am not one of these people that are interested in a camera phone but instead want the best call quality possible as well as reception. What I very much want to do and do not really care how much money it takes to get it done is get the Sanyo SCP-5400/RL 2500 and or the SCP-5500 / VM4500 working on Verizons network. I do not need the two way feature and I don’t need the get it now stuff. All I want is my text messaging and voice mail and phone. ...
