Does this phone support MIDP2.0 (related to J2ME)?
Also is there a website by Audiovox?

Importing #s and schedule into 9900

Hi,

As I sit here manually re-entering #s into my new 9900 I figure it couldn't hurt to ask the obvious question: Although I've pored over the manual I can't find any reference to entering phone #s except via pushing the buttons. Is there any way to import them (and the scheduler) from a computer exported list?

Thanks very much,

WF

Sc**w the Audiovox 9900 almost a year late

Its been almost 9 months and maybe at least a year before this phone comes out.I see that this phone has a few features that other phones don't have.My contract is up in Dec and Verizon will give me $100 and they said Next Dec 2005 i will get another $100 off another phone, yes that 2 $100 rebates in 2 years lol.Back to the audiovox its a nice phone but why buy something thats been out with sprint for almost 9 months already when other phones will be as good as the Verizon in Oct i would think...I would have loved getting the audiovox but why by a phone people have been taking about since last Feb 2004.johnny Feedback 😉

CDM8600 - Can't activate VR w/Send key

I can activate voice recognition by opening the flip phone, but it won't active when I set it to activate via the Send Key. It just immediately goes into the list of numbers I setup with voice tags, but I get no prompt.

Any clues?

free midi for 8900 instructions

Start at Eringers.com and search the poly tones. Click the tone name you want from the list. This will take you to a download screen. Place a check-mark in the "MIDI" format box and scroll to the bottom to click on download. This takes you to a new screen that gives you a URL. The site wants you to use your mobile web to navigate to the URL, but you don't do that. Look at the text under the URL. There is an option to click "MY TONES" which takes you to the specific url for the tone you selected. Right click that URL and "SAVE TARGET AS" to your computer. Now you have the midi file on your system. Log onto vzwpix.com and create a message to yourself using media from your computer i.e. the midi file as an audio attachment. This will...

VM4050 WAP MapQuest Mobile???

I think I will be picking up the VM4050 this weds. I've heard about the 35k cache limit. I also tired to get onto mapquest at the Sprint store and it would not load. I'm not sure if I was doing it right though. I've got a old startac and am new to the WAP borwsers. Can the VM4050 use vindigo studio apps. Will MapQuest Mobile work?? I'm not so concerned about being able to surf the web like on my computer I know the phone cant do that but I will not be happy if I cant use the same WAP pages that other phones can. Also I've read the chip is faster in the VM4050. Will the newer phones comming out be using this chip as well, meaning that more games etc will work on it or will this phone just be skipped?

Audiovox CDM4000 - need screws that hold it together

Hi all.

I have an old Audiovox 4000 phone that has lost two of the three screws that hold it together. This is causing the phone to intermitently cut power and restart, usually when I am on a call (grr 😡 ). If anyone has a dead phone of this type lying around, please contact me, I'd love to get a couple of them from you so I can keep my phone working till the 9900 is out. Thanks!
