Savy Chocolate vs. LG VX8300

Ok. so heres the deal. My current two year plan ends this week and I have to buy a new phone and renew my plan. I have to choose a cell phone that I wish to have for the next two years and it has been narrowed down to either the Chocolate or the LG VX8300. I've seen many ads and read many things about the chocolate. Its been raved for its appealing exterior and ability to perform as both a phone and an mp3 player. I wouldn't mind having those two in one package. The LG VX8300 has a nice sporty look and from what I've read it has everything you look for in a phone and it works well.
I'm worried about the Chocolate and it's battery life. Wouldn't using it as an mp3 for listening to songs waste battery life? I mean it's first and most importa...

9800 Shutting down while texting....

Has anyone experienced this? I am on my 4th...yes fourth 9800. Today I received another brand new 9800"M" (V-Cast Music). Much to my dismay, this one has shut down twice today already. Am I crazy? I have asked several others who own the phone and no one has had this problem except one person...I am beginning to think its me. I love this phone but, I can't take it shutting down. I text 99% of the time from outside keyboard. I am an extremely heavy texter'. About 3000 a month. I have thought maybe its becasue I type too fast....maybe too many texts...I keep my in box cleaned out thinking that was it. I would love to hear from anyone that is having this problem. Thank you for your feedback in advance. ☚ī¸

LG VX8300, USB cable, and Micro SD Card

I have a 1 gig Micro SD card and USB cable for my new LG VX8300. I also have downloaded and successfully used BitPim to send data to the phone. I have formatted the card. Can I use this setup to create a directory structure on the card and transfer MP3's directly from my PC to the phone, or do I still need a card reader? Thanks.

CU500 owners w/ USB cords that didn't pick up mass storage?

Some people have just plugged in their LG CU 500 phone via usb to their computer and haven't had any problems getting their computer to pick up the phone as mass storage to add/drop. But some have been having the problem where the computer doesn't pick up the phone as a removeable drive. Those are the people I'm trying to target with this post.

There are those that say to make sure you have the phone set up as mass storage to work and also say make sure you have a microsd card in there. Been there, done that. Reboot the phone and or the computer- done. I know this drill from having my v3i and folks, I had no problems with the v3i.

I've even downloaded all the LG drivers I could find. My computer detects that a usb cord is connected, bu...

Just Bought a LG CU500

I just upgraded online with Cingular to the LG CU500. I currently have a v3i, but I also want something with Edge, 3G capabilities, Cingular Video, etc, hence the move. Because this phone is relatively new, there doesn't seem to be alot of accessories out there that were made specifically for it. Even Ebay doesn't really have any specified listings for accessories.

What are current users using for software (contacts, ringtones) and what usb cable? I've heard that recent LG phone models use the same usb cord, but this is my first LG phone, so can someone verify which models I should be looking for? Also, anyone find a fitted case for this phone- not a universal case that 'fits' every phone. Thanks!

You can read this whole review on the Chocolate for the UK or skim to the bottom where it says, "Personal Wishlist" and look at the cons of the phone. If that doesn't bother you, go get it! (August 7th).

getting free ringtones on the 8100.

I have browsed the message boards and found several different ways to shorten mp3 files and have them sent to my phone. All of which send them to my 8100 as sounds not ring-tones. How do I get them from my sounds to a ring-tone?

playing songs on new VX 8300

I have just purchased a new VX 8300 and a 512mb micro SD card. Without paying Verizon for Get it Now for everysong, how do I download songs that I have on my home PC onto the SD card? I have an IPOD and am knowledgable on using it, but do not know the way to get the songs onto the SD. Also, how do I download ringtones?
Thanks

New LG 5000 for sale

I have a brand new LG ux5000 that I recently won in an LG promotion contest. I already havea phone, so I'm looking for someone to sell it to. It retails at 350.00. I'd be willing to sell it for 125.00 OBO. It's programmed for use with U.S. Cellular. It's brand new, unlocked, still in box and wrappings. If interested, feel free to email me at aj_lyon@hotmail.com.
