Does anyone on this site have any news about Windows8 mobile devices (phones or tablets) coming to market anytime soon?

I recently started a software development company, in partnership with my brother and father. We primarily develop Windows Apps. We are currently looking into the possibility of moving towards being able to offer our potential clients mobile apps. As such, we are exploring which mobile platform will be most beneficial for us to learn how to develop in.

So, our question is, which mobile platform (iOS, Android, Windows) will grow the most in the next twelve months?

To my knowledge, Windows 8 is slated for an October release, so their mobile platforms should be out by then as well.

I like the idea that my phone runs what my tablet runs what my desktop runs (the whole idea behind Windows 😎.

In any case, I think that Windows 8 will be met with some uncertainty (like Windows 7 was, I mean, after Vista.... omg... the horror!), but will be eventually adopted widely as an easy to use platform that we can take with us on our mobile devices.

Otherwise, I would say that despite Windows 8, if you are going to develop anything, develop iOS apps. The money is soooooooo there, and it's yours if you are willing to work hard and develop some amazing apps!

My honest belief is that Windows 8 Mobile is an underdog that while see tremendous growth for 2 reasons. 1. is the seamless integration between mobile and p.c. 2. is the fact that Microsoft no longer is making the Zune mp3 player hardware due to the fact that they are banking on the cell phones to be the "all in one" type device. I, personally, have a year subscription to the Zune Music Pass and my Zune player is acting up so I will be purchasing a Windows 8 phone as soon as one is available on Verizon.

I am sure I am not the only one in this situation. Not to mention the integration with xbox live!
