you will have two things that your gonna want to think about.

preference and actual quality.

as far as hardware goes, the p and wx are the same.

then preference is totally up to you.

and finally, quality. the Palm OS is much more stable than the Windows. my preference is Palm. it's more versatile, more stable(doesn't freeze up or crash AS MUCH), and it's easier to navigate all around. there are other reasons... i just don't feel like posting them.

I both programs (650 & 700w). The Palm format isn't too bad, but I'm a Windows kinda person. I can't be without Word & Windows Media Player; those are must haves for me. But to each his own. The Camera/Video on the 700w will give you more options than it will on the 700p, if that matters at all to you. Real player (700p features) is okay, but you have to pay for a membership to get music on your phone, Windows Media player is free. That sucks.

as far as word goes, palm is actually superior to windows mobile in that all palm handhelds come with documents to go, which keeps ALL office files in their native format, where the windows mobile turns the files into a mobile format, which is no longer compatible with the office that's on your pc.

windows media player is really just a single app that does everthing the palm does in 2 or 3 apps. unless i'm mistaken, the palm os can read and play wma files, and i believe you can get an app that will play wmv farely easy.

i prefer the overall usability and stability of the palm os over window...

It's easy for me to navigate Windows. I have no difficulties with either program. Granted, the SMS features are better on the 700p, but the 700 does all I need it to do and more with ease.
