VZW appears greedy and not in touch with customer needs.
I have a Treo650 with VZW. I can take photos and videos. I can email the photos from the phone but I have to use MMS which VZW charges me to use. Oh, I forgot to mention that I pay VZW $45.00 a month for unlimited data plan so I can use the phone to access the web and process email. Now you would think the $45.00 was enough for VZW but as I mentioned in order to send photos I have to use MMS and pay additional fees. MMS and SMS do not support video so I have no option for sending my videos from my Treo650. According to Palm’s customer service, VZW has locked out my option to attach files to my emails. I've had Cingular and Verizon. Bad reps are in every company, but Verizon is the overall best. But with any company, it depends on who you talk to.

i still can't figure out why VZW charges so much for the data package on their Treo... Sprint charges the standard rates as any other handset for the Treo... the only device we have a higher charge for is the CrackBerry... *cough*... i mean BlackBerry, and that's because we have an agreement or something with RIM to have a specific type of data package with it.
anyway... VZW seems to like finding different ways to charge their customers for data, above the flat 'unlimited access' charges that they actually cap. i find that ridiculous.

I still think Verizon's data plan is better than T-Mobile. Yes they onl charge $30, but it is so ---------- slow! I don't mind paying more for something that works. Sprint has the cheapest data plan, but I have my reasons for not joining them.

Verizon has always been this way. Why are you surprised. I would never use this phone co. even if I got 5 bars everywhere.

It's a business and you have the option to not do business with them if you're not happy with their policies. There is always going to be something you don't like about a cellular company whether it's messaging charges, upgrade policy, contract renewals for changing plans, etc. You have to pick the lesser of two evils I guess. And if you have a $650-$700 phone I guess they assume you can afford additional charges all the time.
