Hi, I have a treo600 from verizon. I ran across a problem with the network preference setting. Aparently it is set to never time out, which in this case cost me $179.67 in additional data charges (accumulated within 23hrs because the phone didnt disconnect even after I closed the application which used the connection). Granted Verizon took care of it, but they also locked the setting where you can adjust the time out for a data connection. Does anyone know how to override the lock-out or how to adjust the network timeout otherwise. To find the settings on the treo go to the main screen, tap on prefs, in the top right corner change it to networks then tap on modify. first things first o would have told you to start with the unlimited data plan for $20 more. at 44.99 then i would also tell you anytime that you are running a program and you want it to end hit the stop button. when you arent using the web and you leave the wire on you are going to cause the program to still keep running. so you need to stop the program save it into your favorites or you can go into you LOG later on and get back into it...but the best thing that i would tell you to do is turn off the wire when you arent using the program. and as far as the application being locked. there really is no way to unlock it. you might have to contact PALMONE.COM to have them help you out with that. cause once its locked its locked...hope this help...

the problem is that even after I signed off the application, especially MMS the network connection stays active and in standby unless I deactive it from the main menue. Any other service provider offering this phone lets you manually adjust the network time-out preference. And after a very bad experience two days ago with PalmOne techsupport on a different matter (the ringer stops working unless you reset the phone every 24 hrs or so) I decided to return the phone in exchange for a LG 6100. The Treo 600 is a nice toy but not worth all the trouble it already caused me.
