Mobileplanet in the US has both the Qtek 8020 and i-mate Sp3i. Any recommendations on which one to purhcase. I am also interested in the Cingular 2125 (HTC Faraday) but I'm not willing to spend $300+. Any recommendations? Is it better to wait and buy the new WM5 phones or do the older phones like the SP3i work just as well. Cingular customer w/ Nokia 6230. I want to try Windows Mobile phones.

As an SDA owner, go for either the 8020 or the SP3i. WM5 doesn't have enough improvements, especially in the 2125, which lacks wifi.

Most of the apps on WM5 are exactly the same as WM2003SE, very little has changed. Your appointments are still handled the same way, phonebook is the same, etc.

Don't get the SP3i, sadly it is a piece of junk. There is a 90% chance that the joystick will either not work at all, not work in a certain direction, or will have to be held for a while to get it to go the direction you tell it. Then you will start to get very annoyed with the buttons because, while they are raised, they are made very poorly and feel quite odd to use. I have gone through 4 of these phones before just settling on the SMT5600 (basically the SP3i w/o the joystick). The Qtek would probably be a better choice out of the 2.
