Mobile 5.0 Fresh Install

I just purchased the Treo 700w from Verizon. If I were to say the phone worked well, I would not be telling the truth. It locks up frequently and does not seem to have the power/memory to run windows mobile 5.0.

Now I find it hard to think that Palm and MS would have released a product that would perform as this does... especially when they have invested millions in advertising dollars.

I guess my question is this - is the product at fault, or did Verizon "tweak" the phone so much that they have hindered the performance?

The device probably "locks up" because you have a lot of programs running in the background. You can hold down on the "OK" button for a few seconds and it will open a the task manager. Go to the running programs tab and Kill all the running programs.

I would do this whenever you see a slow down. Also make sure you are using an SD card and not the device memory. Keep the device as empty as possible.

My 2 Cents...
